The amount of content you upload weekly still blows my mind. You deserve an award. Most people don't realize how hard it is to 1: talk without messing up or having long periods of you saying nothing because your brain glitches for a min. And 2: the editing process. You're the reason I switched all my plants to no drainage a few years ago. I struggle with a few that also have a pole because I ending up over watering through the pole and then get sidetracked (adhd and ocd) and realize "oh I need to refill my qtip container in my bathroom RIGHT THIS SECOND. Then days later I realize I didn't tip the vessel over the sink to let the excess water drain out.

Outdoor gardening is super easy. I do flowers, herbs and cherry tomatoes. I would suggest having a herb pot on your balcony too if you’re allowed. Sometimes we have a drought here so I always try and water most days. I keep rain water buckets. Also good for indoor plants. I try and plant lots of pollinator flowers too.

Suddenly everything happened and I nearly passed out, felt like I was going to throw up, drenched in sweat, pale as a ghost. I was so weak afterwards. Apparently it can also happen if you strain too hard 😳 Good times. Hope you’re ok. Keep hydrated.

If you want a suggestion for propping any string ofs, I'd suggest doing everything in a closed dome system like you just did, but do the parfait method with your semihydro substrate on the bottom, then add a thin layer of moss and THEN add your cuttings on top and close your dome... the moss is good here for the exact reason we dislike it at times lol - when the cuttings root out it'll turn into a kind of moss/root blanket which u can easily scoop up and use to up pot ur cuttings in the future and since the layer of moss will be pretty thin, you don't have to worry about suffocating roots, bc most of them should grow into the pon/ stratum beneath... the moss serves the sole purpoise 🐳 of keeping everything together for when you want to repot without damaging the roots... did this to my alocasia corms that didn't grow in just pon and did this to my Variegated String of Hearts and have had nothing die on me 👍 I just keep everything moist and in the milsbo
@plantsxcass9223 Жыл бұрын
Do you put a lid on when doing this? To increase humidity
@pedrocarvalho6391 Жыл бұрын
@@plantsxcass9223 yessir, I add a cover on it until I see roots forming past the moss layer and into the pon... I use small 2' propagation cups with a cover dome that you can buy in Germany, but you can do it like Charmaine with the clear plastic cups flipped onto each other... I like to keep this small bc then I can better control the development of the string of hearts... after I did that and everything was well rooted, I added all my props to a nice lechuza pot and added the moss with the rooted cuttings ontop of the new pon like you would with sheet moss

Not plants, but I’m curious. It seems like people in North American get medicated for mental health issues instead of getting treatment for the root causes? Where I live, doctors are very conservative with medication and will prescribe it if necessary, but the goal is for you to live a life without medication whenever possible. We rely on therapy/counseling, exposure therapy etc
@unplantparenthood Жыл бұрын
This is 100% true. America is very over-medicated and it’s sad. But my doctor recommended therapy heavily before getting me on meds. I wish more doctors would advocate for therapy and other forms of psychiatric therapy before medicating- but the more meds they prescribe the more they get paid. My doctor has always had the plan for me to ween off eventually if that was something I felt comfortable doing, so I really am grateful for him!
@ronjakh Жыл бұрын
@@unplantparenthood The health system over there is so dysfunctional. I had a really bad few years with agoraphobia, severe anxiety and panic attacks. I was offered meds, tried a few, but had some side effects and uncomfortable reactions to them. I decided to just work through it because I wanted to be able to cope without meds. A friend a mine hasn’t been able to come off her meds in ten years. She did briefly, during her pregnancy, but had to go back on them shortly after. Totally get how some people need them to live their lives. But I dunno…would she still need them if she had tried to come off them sooner? Who knows… You’re lucky to have a doctor who doesn’t just want to treat your symptoms 🙂
