I have the same pet peeve on social media influencers. Specially those who send DMs to engage on their contents but they will never engage on my posts just because I have lower number of likes and followers. Those are like the major EW for me.

I tried the no drainage and it's a no from me. I am trying to understand how in the world your pots are so clean and the media looks dry. I use biochar etc. in my potting and I don't think my plants liked being in that without air. Maybe I will try with a plant to test what the best media is to do it.

I have an Anthurium Ace of Spade that come as a tissue culture 2 mths ago and it just doesn’t seem to be growing. I have it in fluval as well as my other TC’s that are growing great but this one just does not seem to be going anywhere. Is there anything you recommend that I should do?

Your boo bie cactus is growing thin because it’s a top cutting. It’s pretty normal for a cactus cutting to grow thinner. Myrtillocactus are actually vigorous growers. You can get a lot of growth per year, but they need a large pot and full sun. Your pot is way too small. Columnar cacti do need a large pot if you want them to grow fast. They also need water when they’re actively growing. You can get a solid foot of growth on a Myrtillocactus every year. Heat is also important. These can’t stand cold. They go dormant as soon as the temperatures drop.

I saw another youtuber wash her plant, but she washed roots and all. She then put it in a bottle of water and let it grow and it was beautiful. I know you explained it, but I am still confused as to why you didn't wash the rest of the plant instead of throwing it away?

Regarding gloves: try looking for nitrile gloves. They are usually a tighter fit, and meant to be worn so they arent all crinkly. I use them for cooking as i have some sensory issues, and they are easier to work with than normal plastic gloves.

I have one on my balcony and will not cut it until it hits my living room floor. I used to be cheap and would purchase cuttings and all died. I invested in two over priced plants from Etsy that died. Finally found an awesome grower. The plant was right below the pot, now it is at least 6 feet long. I also tried to make it climb, and it didn't do well at all but I also didn't use a moss pole. Nice and informative vid, and yes, they love showers. I tend to leave it outside in the rain, or fertilize it and allow it to get sun sun stress it since the colors are gorgeous.

So as someone who has a 1 year old, bare in mind we live with my husbands parents and siblings so only have the 1 room, with 100 plants us and a baby, I have kept my hobby going without skipping a beat, I usually do plenty things on the weekends, or urgent care during naps. Sometimes I do bits in the evening after the hubby has gotten home, showered and eaten, he then looks after casper if I need the time Don't live around your baby, so many people sacrifice everything when you really don't have too, let your baby grow up seeing your passion for your hobby and have them look for a hobby of their own from seeing how much joy it brings you ❤ I heard so many 'there's go's all your spare time' 'goodbye sleep' etc comments, my little one eats amazingly, sleeps through the night and is the best little dude ever, like you said, everyone's experience is different, don't care what others say

I viewed this when your first uploaded and had to run out the last 15 minutes so I'm back. I did have a question, why do you use laca in the bottom of your visuals? I have learned a lot watching you. Because of you I have Alocasia Poly that had corums that I successful put in my prop box and it has produced six plants. I just potted four them in Perlite and one is still in moss. I actually had two plants that both died or went dormant and has since come back. I had purchased Alocasia soil & added a little perlite when I repotted the morhers however I don't think they like it because after two months, the leaves turned yellow and died.. Actually I repotted my first one and the second one I got from Lowe's and it went dormant after ten days. Missed placed receipt so I couldn't take it back.

Also want to pop in with quick info about NPK. Yes the numbers are the percentages of each in the mix, however just because the numbers are higher doesn’t mean you would be giving your plants more. Likely the miracle gro for example gets more diluted than the tps fertilizer. The more interesting info would be the ratio of npk. So the tps has much higher phosphorus levels than most typical aroid and houseplant fertilizers…. I don’t know too much about how specific nutrients are used by the plants, but maybe I will have to try that out!

This is a super helpful video. I especially like how you talk a lot about supplemental nutrients, fungi, microbes and whatever else cause I feel like recently I see so much focus on a super sterile(?) method of plant growing which probably works in some environments. But I feel like the root systems on your plants speak for themselves and there’s more than one way to grow plants.
