I am also incredibly let down by this election and a lot of my sadness and sorrow is due to the fact that I am horrified that there are so many millions of people that would be okay with voting for hatred and misogyny and for white supremacy. But at the same time, I can only focus on doing what I can and moving on. Giving up helps nothing and is only squandering the chances and the power we DO have. Yes we may be losing rights and still may lose them in the future, but what do we have now that can be utilized for good?

this is exactly how i feel. i definitely spent time feeling devastated and at a loss for words- but i also refuse to let this stop me and the sacrifices that people have made for me to be here. it's really encouraging to read that you're similarly motivated to do everything you can while you still can. day by day. thank you for sharing

I feel extremely let down by this election. I spent a few days really struggling. I'm still trying to make sense of it. I put so much of my time and energy into the 2016 election and was devastated. I don't even feel comfortable speaking up about it anymore. It's impossible to reason with people who are fall victim to fear mongering and have ultimately selfish intentions.

i absolutely agree. i feel like i'm saying that i'm sitting up on my high horse for saying it, but it's hard for me to believe that people would put their own selfishness over other people's safety and health. it's really disheartening too as a first time voter- anxiety wise i feel as if i am morally responsible- so i completely understand your devastation and exhaustion. i hope that you're able to find a little peace in these times. sending you love
