I highly recommend the spelling exercises included in the teacher’s manual! Especially once your daughter is into the first reading, they explain how to build your own spelling lists based off of the individual child’s needs. It’s spectacular!

Are these directions in the original spelling book?

I love mom delights spelling! It is working wonders for us when other things were not working.

The detailed explanation was so helpful. I like how you explained it in context of a week as how the lesson builds. Sometimes people will explain how to use this but its hard to know how to break it down in single days and how to put it all together. Also giving examples of what you mean. (I think this is more useful than just "watch us do a lesson together".) Thank you thank you. Also i love mom delights too! As you make changes id love to hear updates

I got some new ideas on how to teach for my older daughter with finding words. Thank you. We have been enjoying using the readers as well!

Ahhh! Excited to watch this! Since your new curriculum video I’ve been researching the McGuffey Readers and I think we’re going to give it a go! It seems to be a very solid choice for us.

Same here! I watched her video the other week about changing up her LA and it was like an answer to prayer. I got all the books in last week and we can’t wait to start with the Mcguffey’s! 😊

This was so helpful! Thank you! I've heard good things about Mcguffey readers but I was always curious how to implement these. Love that you have her self correct. Great idea and so important even at these young years!

I know this is a little bit of an older video, but I’m just finding your channel and have REALLY enjoyed your content ☺️ Thank you for this video. Definitely a HUGE help in how to use the McGuffey’s. I’ve wanted to use these for 4 years now (since beginning our homeschool journey). I love YOUR notebook (the leather travelers journal). Where did you get it?

I believe it just came from Amazon. Thank you so much for your kind words, I am glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️❤️❤️

This is so helpful. I saw your last video about these and I'm so excited that you went into more detail now. Also I can't remember what you said in the last video, but do you recommend the revised or original version?
@oursweetiebirdshome9 ай бұрын
I am glad you enjoyed it! I will probably use the original up to the second reader, and then switch over to the revised on or after the third. We’ll see when the time comes what will happen! ❤️

I love seeing how to use the mcguffeys. Thanks for sharing how you use it. Also thanks for sharing about Christmas homeschool. I like sticking to the basics too. We did read through the Jesus Storybook Bible and did some scripture memorization about who Jesus is specifically. But other than that, i dont like to add more. I should have asked my kids like you did what they wanted to do. Thats great advice. Do you still use CLE LA for your second grader?

Thank you for sharing about the McGuffey Readers. I have a better understanding of how to use these books. I am trying to change up some things with my homeschool starting the New Year and our current reading curriculum is not working for my daughter. I can't spend lots of $ on a new curriculum so looking into cheaper options, that are solid, thorough, and simple to use. I am trying to switch to more of the Charlotte Mason Philosophy too. Also, is that felt board behind you? Did you make it or purchase it. I am looking to incorporate some felt board storytime for my toddler, so he doesn't feel left out of our learning and homeschool with the older kids. Do you have any advice for a rambunctious toddler boy and how I can keep him busy while homeschooling? Thank you and Merry Christmas!

My child juat finished the CLE kindergarten 2 and we want to incorporate the mcguffy reader primer. It appears from the flip thrus I've seen, that the CLE Lesrning to Read must be completed before the McGuffy Primer is started? Not all sounds have been mastered or learned, and it seems some more ground work needs to be done before starting mcGuffys. Is that something you'd suggest?
@oursweetiebirdshome7 ай бұрын
The McGuffey Primer starts very gently, so you can go at the pace of your child/cater to where they are at. :)

Okay so just to clarify, McGuffey readers are for LA then, like it doesn’t teach you to read ? Would you still use CLE learning to read for that ?
@oursweetiebirdshome6 ай бұрын
You can use the McGuffey readers to teach reading as well, we just love using CLE for establishing a solid foundation before moving on to the McGuffey’s. ❤️
@cheshathompson57406 ай бұрын
I noticed CLE has learning to read for 1st grade, do you think a younger child could use it if they are ready and want to learn to read?
