For things with dodgy dates, you can load up the Prrime Now app, and then call them (it actually works by them calling you after you give them a number to dial on), they basically bend over backwards to appease prime members, as I have found out with many many maaany issues over the years with Prime related items.

The reason why it costs so much is because the Morrisons the items are being picked is in the city centre of Milton Keynes. Prices always more expensive closer to city centres.

This fail was not yours. This fail was on both the shopper from prime and the store that stocked that chicken. Considering that you had not had it more than a day and a half and it went from looking ok to visibly rotten, had you eaten it the day you got it you probably would have gotten sick. People shopping for services like this should be better than that. Many of these services are being used by people who are to scared of covid to leave home and careless shopping like that could land them in one of the most dangerous places to be if youre in a high risk category, the hospital.

Since the COVID scare started, I've used a similar service 2 or 3 times. The shoppers have made a few mistakes along the way but for the most part they've done an alright job. But anytime I've ordered milk or eggs or other items that have a short shelf life, it always seems like they go out of their way to pick the one with the worst date possible :/

@@JonathanRodd If they are picking from Amazon stock and not from a grocery store (mine has a choice between Amazon and Whole Foods) they are probably required to pick the oldest exp date to make sure it gets sold. The other issue is that they are timed when picking your foods so they have to grab and go to make their quotas, they don't have time to check expiration dates or inspect the product for damage. They just have to trust that the person stocking the items is on top of things and rotates stock regularly, removing/discounting items that are about to expire. I've had them give me milk that was about to expire in 3 days and it tasted like it. (Generally the store gets milk 2 weeks before the exp date. )

Good on Grace for being stubborn and not just throwing away a ton of food for no real good reason like you did yesterday. Also, cooking any vegetable almost any other way besides boiling them is way better than boiling them.

If they are legit good veggies during the peak of their season then boiling is fine. Because that's when the veggies themselves have the best flavor and you don't want to distract from it. But when it's not a veggie's peak season then it's usually better prepared some other way :p
