A few tips I'd give would be make sure you're getting plenty of food volume, will help satiate you. Also, eating as late in the day as you can manage will make things a lot easier when you crave food late at night, A black coffee in the AM will curb your appetite and so help you do this, good luck

I've been tracking with MFP for a few weeks and gifted myself a fitbit inspire hr. So far I'm 10lbs down (trying not to directly look at the other 110 to go). MFP is both good and awful, but I like it more than the calorie tracker for fitbit.

The tomato and basil flavour of the pot Pasta 'n' Sauce is quite nice. I've had a couple of them this week. I would also recommend Pot Rice; all the water gets absorbed so you're left with a fairly thick and hearty bit of food.

13:22 - This is why I try to do at least 500 calories on the YMCA treadmill at 5 times a week. When I have quiet week I can hit 6-7 days a week and do upwards of 600-700 calories. So far I've lost 60 pounds over the last year and half. I have 25 to get to my next goal and then 50 after that to my "low" goal.

I've been using an app called "fat secret" I weighed 16½ stone and now I weigh 12. Managed my weight loss in 3 months. It was aggressive but wanted to do it quickly.

@ΛCΞ cut my calorie intake down to between 1000- 1200 a day. Breakfast was 1 Weetabix, 1 piece of small wholemeal toast and 1 poached or boiled egg. Tomato soup for lunch and spiced chicken breast 80g and 40g of rice and veg for dinner. Snacks were at a very minimum and very low calorie if i had any. Also lots of gerkins and gerkin juice. Vitamin supplement and lots of bike riding.

I"ve been using mfp for years. I recommend peeling and decoring your fruit. the sizes vary so much that you are probably over estimating. Also you could have had a milky bar with those leftover calories :)

Hi, fan here, however I must say I'm a bit confused. About 13mins 11 the app shows you having 42 calories left, exercise was 56, with your total calories for the day at 1614, however I don't think you had added the mayo on? At the end your exercise was 55 (1 less) with your remaining calories at 71, with your total day calories at 1584. Where did the extra 30 calories come from??

I use Lose It in combination with an "approved eat out menu" from the local hospital. I've lost 8 pounds in a month, but I think it's just from cutting out sweet tea completely.

I've used this app for years. Weigh all food! That banana can have many more calories than you think. I wouldnt trust calories burnt to be accurate. You're better off using a fitbit or something. And calories burned are not meant to take into account your usual every day walking. Its supposed to be actual exercise like going for a run, gym etc. 2lbs loss a week is why your calories are so low. If you chose 1lb week it would increase your calorie intake per day. I found i would usually lose more than that anyway. Definitely try and eat more vegetables to help fill you up. I have Tesco salads for lunch most days. Some are super low and i can be left with hundreds of calories at the end of the day to play with even after dinner and im on less than what you are

Mike, I think you need to work out your Basel metabolic rate,this is the amount of calories needed to function being static, then anything above that can be burned as excess. Theres a formula on the internet for it. I'm similar statistics to you and my body needs 1800 per day just to live.

MFP usually recommends about 200-300 below maintenance for weight loss. My maintenance is 1500 and MFP has me doing 1200.

i use this app daily! i’ve lost 12lbs so far :) the only thing i find is that sometimes things aren’t accurate. if the calorie says on the item you’re eating e.g your pasta n sauce just double check!

Counting Calories is how I lost over 200 pounds back in 2008-2011. My doctor had me on a severely restricted number (1200) and monitored me up to the first 100 pounds, then let me go up to 1500-1700 until I was at a healthy weight. I've petered and kinda gained a good bit back (70) since then, and I still count calories (max 2500 these days). So, I'm happy, I'm healthy, and I don't have to deny myself foods I want, so long as I keep active and have food that's good for me, too. Good luck, Mike

Shouldn't eat the calorific stuff first thing? You'll burn it off through the day and then a light dinner so when your matabolism slows for sleep it's not fattening you slowly over night. If you do it right your gut shouldn't eat itself for a bedtime snack...

1600 calories low? When I go on a diet I normally start out at 800 and after a month jump it to 1200. Typically over a 3 month period I'll drop 40-50 lbs. Then comes winter and it all comes back.

I count my calories every day,I average around 1800. I'm 42,13st and 6ft tall. My scales hasn't gone down in months,but my waist has by 2". Very bizarre.i walk loads.20k per day. Any ideas?

I think if you had some protein with breakfast it might keep you full longer. Also, there’s a good chance you’ll lose lean body mass on such a low calorie limit with so little protein intake.

I did that once, tried to stay within 1000-1500 calories a day, just roughly estimated without exactly counting it but it helped. 2 months and I felt the difference and in total I managed to lose about 15kg like this, however it does take some determination to even get over the urge to break that eating less / eating no more because you reached the limit. However, the Yo-Yo effect hit me and about a year later I gained those 15kg back with even more on top of that which I am really not happy with.
