This is why I love your channel. I learned that you can actually see a drag show in China. Sometimes with Western news, one only hears the negatives about a country. Plus, I am glad that you were part of the interview process for students who want to get into your school. To me that's so cool.

I agree, I’m 1st gen British, it’s always been interesting to see how my own country is portrayed in the west, yet I find myself occasionally falling into the trap of judging other countries based on how they’re portrayed in the west.
@ensteffo10 ай бұрын
Its not even as much of only western media reporting negative news about a country, but completely fabrication stories which does not correspond to reality in the slightest, most famous example being Iraq WMD, but especially China, DPRK, Cuba etc are countries which western media throw evidence gathering out the window when deciding what they allow them self to claim.

Hey Aleese, I'm so happy you are starting to settle in, I think you are so brave with all your adventures. Just an FYI re this video, I noticed that your voice levels were pretty quiet and then the music was really loud and I had to keep turning the volume up and down 😅

Hello Aleese, I really want to live in China and when I found your channel I was very happy. Your videos are so chill and fun to watch and answered a lot of questions about some important topics. Can I ask you something? Is it difficult to find makeup for black skin there?
@AleeseLightyear10 ай бұрын
Awwww thanks so much! I'm working on a series now for ppl who want to move to china. honestly, it's not impossible, but it is hard to find makeup for Black skin. Usually buy it from a Chinese person who orders things for foreigners from amazon for a high price, get my family or friends to send it to me, or buy it when I'm traveling outside of China.

Aleese! I love your videos. I plan to move to China this year for studies, I'm curious about how you manage to move around, do you speak Chinese?
@jackcullen508510 ай бұрын
I always say autumn/winter is the hardest time to move to a new place, because you're forced to see a place at it's "worst" (bad weather, slower social life, cold) before you can enjoy the summer(if you can't tell i'm a massive summer baby). I hope as it warms up and summer activities become possible you'll get more opportunities to go outside and feel happy with the move!
@alejandroxie89410 ай бұрын
Its true. especially in Chengdu, it is extremely cold and rainy during winter and early spring due to the geographic reason. And there is no central heating in this area.😂

Do you find that the air pollution takes away from your quality of life and influences your health ? Asking because I am considering moving there. Thanks ❤
@AleeseLightyear7 ай бұрын
yes yes yes yessss....The pollution after time does effect your health and there are precautions that you take, like buying an air filters for your home. But I think most of all it effects your mood, when you see nothing but grey grey grey for weeks you start to feel a bit sad. Do your research and find out which city has low pollution and look for jobs there
