Some very valid and good points are made by the speaker. Exoskeletons are indeed a very interesting alternative to wheelchairs - just imagine how they raise para or tetraplegic people to the height of other people, and how that can psychologically make a difference in a person's self-esteem. Not to mention the increase in autonomy. In any case, there is still much to improve, I think, as the exoskeleton can become smaller, less noisy, and perhaps fit for walking on stairs and rough terrain safely (why not even water-proof). Let's hope more funding is allocated to such projects.

Some of the videos on here are 10 years old....when they did tests in rats. My brother is still in his wheelchair.

This isnt true walking, isnt a necessity. He means well but this presentation would be more credible if a paraplegic presented it. In fact walking isnt a paraplegic's greatest medical need and in modern society it is not a necessity. Yes it is useful but an exoskeleton would be so intrusive in any environment its in except perhaps in a forest - and that is a long long way from reality
