With the amazing hearing and smell ellies have I am not surprised they got spooked by the sound of the heavy rainfall. I would imagine the sound of the rain would mask the roar of a lion or their smell, along with whatever way the wind is blowing. Poor Lundi was stressing because she had a baby to protect. It is amazing the 360 degree turns and not once was baby Phabeni harmed. I love Lundi she is an amazing mummy.🥰❤🐘♥️🥰

Lovely to see him a few minutes later with a full tummy and cozy under his blanket - hopefully he was able to reconnect with Lundi, Jabu etc very soon after!! We are on tenterhooks!!!!! @lindawalker8312, Adine's concern for Khensani--in this case--and for all of the staff under her leadership, is Adine in actuality taking great care of herself. That is what a good leader does: she recognizes and cares for those under her leadership, and by doing so, she is actually taking care of herself since they are the ones who have her back, her welfare, and oftentimes her safety in their hands and hearts during much of her given time at HERD while we, as armchair watcher/warriors, sit and worry needlessly and openly from our homes about the great white warrior's welfare. Adine is a valuable, needed, and much-loved HERD asset to be sure, but then so too are the men and women who help her make it all work 24/7. I remember a time not too long ago when the elephants and the white guides/photographers/doctors were always referred to by name while the non-white men who daily cared for the ellies (and the other non-whites who added daily substance to HERD) were not even considered, in most cases, important enough to be called or considered by their names. Many viewers seemingly then only cared enough about one human being and her family. It has been very encouraging to see Adine help to affect this change and to see staff and many viewers openly now start to express concern, recognition, and obvious appreciation for the carers and the others who work diligently behind the scenes. The old African proverb truly applies here: "IT TAKES A VILLAGE". I applaud, and greatly admire Adine for the changes (including attitudes) she has helped to bring about through her caring and effective leadership in creating a truly genuine family at HERD. Now, if the carers would allow, it would be nice to learn a little bit more about the carers' family life and their families outside of HERD (just as we have a slight glimpse of Adine's family life and children outside of HERD).🐘🧑🏽🔬👨🔬👩🏽🔧🧝

Heavy rain means the big elephants are unable to hear or smell when danger is close by so it makes sense that they would work hard to protect the baby from all angles. Wonderful to see the lovely Khensani and the work she does. The young ladies of the world look to each other for inspiration.
@donnievance19429 ай бұрын
Heavy rain also often comes with lightening. Big animals out on an open plain would be somewhat at risk for that. Also, with lightening comes thunder. Elephants are very sensitive to low frequency noise. Their own low frequency rumbles propagate through the ground and allow them to communicate at great distances. To an elephant a heavy storm probably presents a furious racket beyond our perception, in particular low frequency bursts coming through the ground that they feel through their feet.

The response is quite erratic. Thank goodness for the blanket. Did you experience a wave of heat as we did in Western Australia? The temperature has no care for man or beast!
