I was a six month white belt and had a great time training in Brasil at Gracie Humaita Jundia with Professor Nilson Liboni. His instruction was incredible And all the students were incredibly welcoming!

Am from the US and visited a school in Malaga,Spain last year while on vacation.Rolled with several different students and it went well. Some of the students were more advanced and could've smashed me but were cool. The coach was welcoming and helped make it a very positive experience.

My experience has been that professors are usually nice and cooperative as well as most students but there is always that one guy that takes upon himself the task of putting you down.. so I feel is kind of risky to visit other gyms since you have to be prepare to go full blunt with some one you don’t know while you are on vacation..

Finding a Jiu Jitsu gym is just like dating. Some dates are just awful but most are not so bad. Maybe just maybe you can find that perfect gym and if you do . Marry it lol :)

If there even is such a thing as a "perfect" gym.

@todd2324 That's exactly what my wife of 17yrs says. She wants me to define what perfect is and I always respond the same thing. It took forever but I found you :) That's why I call it dating and if its perfect Marry it. When and if (maybe never) I find the perfect gym 🏋️♀️ I will go 1000%.. Why would I give 1000% to anything less? I have very few friends but we are all lifelong. This is the best definition of what I call perfect. Blood vs water, 1000% all in, do or die kind of thing. When you find it youll know. Have a wonderful day 😊

It’s too bad that you have to deal with such childish behavior from grown adults.

Never said what made it a "bad experience". Got smashed? I've visited many gyms over the years, always welcomed. My rules while visiting: - only roll with white belts, girls or kids if asked to. - go gentle with white belts, girls, kids... - No knee on belly, mother's milk, crossface or sitting on the head unless they do first.
