Only been playing for just 7 months. But after hearing you play the soprano, I'm going to pay more attention to my soprano. What I heard is the reason I picked up the saxophone 7 months back. Thanks for giving back.

Good job Johnny. I met you in Vancouver in 1988 I think it was. You were playing for Colin James.I was living with Daryl the drummers girl friend Donna`s sister Amy. You inspired me to play the sax of which I have continued to play to this day. Thanks allot man.

I don’t know, man--“stunning” sounds so dated, … but I feel stunned. Wow. Could I simply let it go at “wow”? I just stumbled onto your KZbin stuff this evening, and I’ve definitely made a lucky find. Thanks for the love I heard you put into that playing: heart-felt as heart-felt could be.

@saxjohnny8 жыл бұрын
They're a lot of fun to play but intonation can be a little tougher than alto and tenor Just start by spending as much time as you can with your new sax Don't need to do anything fancy or difficult just simple major scales and long tones I created a beginners course as an Ebook download with accompanying video howtoplaysaxophone.org/how-to-play-the-saxophone

Hi Johnny would you let me know why sax makers dont use rubber pads instead of leather ones i have a 50year old bundy/selmar alto which has rubber pads which were never replaced as far as i can tell but the leather ones have to be replaced so often often because of saliva which rots them over time nomatter how many times that a person dries them out . So i was just wondering would it not make sense to use rubber ones , plus i dont hear any difference between having leather or rubber pads Kind Regards
@saxjohnny9 жыл бұрын
+Alan Nolan Wow, never heard of rubber pads on a sax, but like everything else it comes down to money. why would a company want to sell us something once every 25 years when they could sell it to us every 3 years. Many years ago they made cane reeds that could last 20 years, that company was quickly bought up and those reeds were never made again.
@len-zeplin4805 жыл бұрын
@@saxjohnny Johnny, I Stumbled Across A Company That Still Makes a Real "Cain" Reed. They Have a Nice Spine & They Wear Like Iron! They even have the Old School Reed Jackets too.They're Dirt Cheap but WORTH a Try. "Flying Goose". No Kiddin, Give them a Try. The Blue Box Reeds have a Filed Profile.

Hi Johnny! I lost all power in search of a way to record the sound of a saxophone. I often see on your video, microphone pre-amplifier. Say how to connect it to the iMac and what program to use to record? I have the sm57 MIC from Shure.
