I was there Sept 28 for 2 days. Wish I could have spent more time there but part of a long cross countries trip. 🎉So beautiful. Have to recommend High Country RV Park. They were great! The drive down into Whitehorse is memorable with the Yukon River on one side of the road and a sharp wall of rocks and gravel on the other.

The Yukon and Northwest Territories put even BC to shame with their beauty. Visiting the NWT this year and hopefully Yukon next year.

The Yukon has such incredible beauty, but after having lived in Whitehorse for 6 or 7 years now, I can honestly say that Whitehorse is NOT a place you would want to live. Rent is extremely high, IF you can even find a place to rent. Food costs are going through the roof, because everything has to be shipped up here. There is really no choice of places to shop for clothes and other items. You either buy poor quality clothes from Walmart or you go to an Outdoor specialty store where the prices are outrageous. There are almost no good choices for restaurants or bars, and the two movie theatre in town are so dirty and dilapidated that it feels like a health hazard just going into them. The downtown area is filled with drunken and drugged natives hanging out on the streets all day and ALL NIGHT in the summer cursing, yelling, and fighting constantly. The best Yukon life is found outside of Whitehorse where you can find wonderful campgrounds, great hiking and biking, and other outdoor activities. But if you move to Whitehorse itself, don't expect life to be anything like how it is portrayed in videos like this one. There is a HUGE difference between visiting here and actually living here.

Yes, the Whitehorse of yesteryear and the Whitehorse of today are two completely different places. There is the beautiful Yukon and then there is Whitehorse which for the last 20 plus years has been trying desperately to remake itself into a wannabe mini Vancouver. You want ridiculous traffic, crime and through the roof housing prices for a mid size town go to Whitehorse today.

Well, if you are looking for a warm climate, The Yukon WAS not the place to come to FOR MOST OF THE YEAR.. But,, It is not as cold as it used to be ( Climate change, has done much, but it STILL can get pretty darn Cold in the winter months ) But ALL Peoples of every Ethnic Group & no matter where you Come from in the WORLD can & DO Survive there.. BUT, One must Adapt & DRESS for the WEATHER !! & BE AN HONEST PERSON & A HARDY FRIENDLY SOUL TO BE ACCEPTED BY OTHER LONG TERM YUKONERS,, if you are a good Person, Many will offer a hand to Help new comers !!~~ But, Many come to The Yukon to Escape their wrong doings.. some CANADIANS, who have wrong doing are accepted if they change their ways, but if not, well THEY ARE soon found out.. The Yukon has her ways of weeding Out the bad ones.~ But if you are A Good Honest Person, Good Minded & a Hard Worker & want to better Yourself, then The Yukon & her People will Welcome You, as long as you were accepted Legally by the Canadian Government to Immigrate to Canada .. Hope this helped..
