Yes, they may be cold in the winter, but at least you can clean them unlike a cloth sofa. Just think of the dust, dander, etc. that gets on a cloth sofa and all you can really do to clean them is vacuum it. Whereas a leather sofa can be wiped down with a damp cloth to remove all that mess. The only negative about leather other than being cold is that natural body oils over time will cause the leather to change color where a person's head and arms constantly touch the leather. I know from experience. But still, give me leather any day over cloth.

Thanks for the good laugh throughout your entire video, from the events of the previous night to Randy’s expression when he sat in the recliner. Pollux and Maxxie were precious with all the new changes. Change is hard for everyone, even good changes especially for animals who don’t comprehend what’s going on. Everything will eventually fall into place and you’ll love it , it’s a beautiful couch and good for you for giving in for leather (4 couches later) that’s why you have a strong and good relationship. @@WelcomeToMyCurls here's a tip you can use to help with the slippery cushions ... go to the drug store and buy a couple boxes of the giant elastic strips they use for exercising and tie around the cushions. They won't hurt the cushions and your booty won't be sliding off. BTW... Randy jumping on the cushions was hysterical 🤣 😂 😆

Watch out for doggie toe nails. Once they mar the leather, it’s permanent there. Had cats and trained them to stay off couch, then a year & half later when we got our leather couch it wasn’t an issue, good luck. New couch is beautiful, luv the recliner.

Oh, my goodness, what a beautiful sectional and the cushions complement it so well. Congratulations! Yes, it would be slippery for a while. The boys were so confused as to their couch not being in the right place ... "Oh, oh Pollux, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore ...!" But Randy's face when he reclined back on it was priceless. Those chili cheese dogs looked so yummy ... As to the delivery guys willing to help move the old couch & love seat out, I was hoping that they would given that they are southern boys, but I guess not.

I completely understand, just take a deep breath and relax! Now the sofa/recliner is part of the family now , like adopting another dog only it's a Saint Bernard - you have to get use to it. You were right, leather is slippery but it does soften up. It takes time though (a bit of time). Randy won't suffer because he will be reclining! I feel for you, Mooie, and Pollux. At least the dog hair can be just wiped off with a damp cloth Dog nails will leave light scratch marks. I use a spray leather conditioner on my two recliners. Good luck....and GOD BLESS

I found this information regarding pillows: Anchoring with pillows made from textured fabrics such as suede, linen and velvet. They'll create more friction with the leather and, therefore, stay in place better. The coarse-textured pillows also provide traction for a layer of pillows made from smoother fabrics.

When I move my couch off of the hardwood floor to clean it I stand it up on end and wiggle it out of the way. Only solution I have moving it alone. Not a fan myself of leather seating but I like the design of it. Loved the video.

Leather couches are so great for dogs! I have 2 Ashley leather couches in the same color. They do not lighten up. My dogs’ nails have scratched the leather, so I try to keep their spots covered with blankets or mats because I want to snuggle with them. I don’t really like leather couches either, but the ease of removing dog hair wins every time. I haven’t found a pillow that doesn’t slide off, but at least I’m not cleaning hair off like I do off my bed. Happy to be in your tribe, Renee! You’re so relatable and fun!

To clean the new couche and nourish the leather you are going to need a bar of saddle soap. Trust me Renee. I had me a white leather couch for years and used to clean it with a sponge dipped in warm water, sqeeze it out til it is almost bone dry and rub it vigorously on the saddle soap til or foams and apply it to the leather. The leather will absorb it and the dirt ends up on the sponge. Then rub it up with a microfiber cloth vigorously. Clean nourishes leather. But that's a while away... looks great Renee, worth the wait xxx😍🤗🤩

Renee, you can't go wrong with leather. It's so easy to clean, but you need to buy proper leather conditioners for it. Also, there is no way that leather is going to lighten up in color. Surely you can compare the leather swatch you chose from to the actual finished sofa to see how different they are. As for those pillows, in my opinion, they are too large in size for the sofa. They would make good floor pillows, but just don't look right on the sofa. Looking forward to seeing how you "style" the room. Have fun!

Very nice looking couch and yes, I'd appreciate a recliner attached, especially with a USB port. We bought a leather couch and I wish we had gotten a fabric one; the leather is too cold. You have to sit on it for awhile before it warms up. I always put a blanket down now if I'm going to be sitting down for more than 5 minutes. And the two dogs don't jump up on it unless I put a blanket down for them to lay on also. They know how to be comfortable, that's for sure.

The new sofa is lovely.You will get it broken in.We have one just like it almost,and it does take some breaking in.It is much cleaner than other kinds of sofas.We put our pet beds on the sofa but we have chihuahuas 4 of them.You could purchase microfiber type pillows that’s what we have and they stay up pretty good on the sofa.

Beautiful couch and I dont mean to rain on your parade but we bought a leather sectional similar to yours and we had it 8 months then we sold it. I got to tired of constantly picking up the pillows because they kept falling on to the floor and it was very cold in the winter. I had to smile at Maxie laying there looking so uncomfy. My dogs finally gave up and we brought their beds into the family room so we could all be together and they were very happy. I hope your experience is better than ours and you enjoy your couch for years to come. Randy sure looks very happy and content .

OMG! Maxie’s face at 20:46!! His poor little body was so stiff trying to stay in place! Poor Mooey - I’m ashamed to say I laughed at and rewatched his misery! Your video reminds me of how my daily life used to go! One giant comedy of errors! I’d laugh and tell the story and others would get hysterical and tell me how funny I was. I think they thought I was embellishing or even just making stuff up, but nope. It might have been because I was laughing as you are, but what else can you do? Being mad or sad doesn’t change a thing - it only makes you miserable and some days it seems like there are enough other people and things working on that particular project. I refuse to give them any help! 😂 I’m with you on both leather and recliners. That recliner looks great, though, and isn’t noticeable at all! It’s a really nice-looking sectional. Once you get it broken in some, it’ll lighten up and soften up and be more comfy. Less slick and “unfriendly” and more pliable and “welcoming”. It’ll be fun to see how the dogs take to it. You may find them hanging out in their teepees more instead of on the sofa. But I’ll bet they’ll still be climbing up for a snuggle and a Judy with mom at the end of the day. Who knows - you may end up loving it! At least you have an excuse to redecorate the whole room now! That’ll be fun! At least today you’re back to work where you’ll feel like you’re relaxing after the last two stressful days! 😂

I had a similar experience. I bought a recliner, it was leather they had to of course "make it." In the meantime I got sick then sold my house and moved into a temporary apt. So finally had the chair delivered. I thought I ordered and purchased a med brown in color, alas the chair was navy blue. I absolutely do not remember ordering a blue chair. But alas that is what I have. Iam not sure I would ever order leather again but I now like you, have to live with it. Good luck.

I feel for you. I'm so nervous buying things for the home because it never seems to be what I expect. I have recently bought three bedroom carpets and I swear the colour was completely different in the showroom....I'll make it work! I have leather sofas...they do look better over time, never had a leather sofa go a lighter in colour but they do become less slippery with wear. I would never not have leather sofa it's so easy to keep clean and unlike a fabric sofa, it looks better with age. It looks fabulous to me!

Love the new couch! We have a leather couch, too, and it was SO slippery that I didn’t know if I liked it. It took a couple of years to break in nicely and now it’s much better. (I like yours more than mine.😉) Our little Schnau is happy on it but he does like to have an afghan under him, which is fine because it breaks up the long expanse of one color, which is the same brown as yours. When we go out, he lays the back so he can watch for us. It looks as if he’d slide off, but he never does, as far as we can tell. We have had no problem with his claws. Enjoy!

My best friend has a sectional that has 4 recliners, and then a separate, on its own, recliner for her mom. I’m like you and prefer fabric on my “comfy” furniture. The new couch looks super comfortable. You will be so happy with the leather material when someone spills soda (or something) and you just easily wipe it off. We always had leather sofas but 5 years ago, we bought a sectional in fabric. We hated it for 5 years and in mid September last year we ordered a new leather one with 2 recliner seats. It got delivered in the end of November. We ordered it custom made from Natuzzi, Italy (we live in Sweden) So, it is kind of weird that it took a year for you to get yours. However, you finally have it so enjoy :-)

I share in your feelings about a leather couch. I'm very warm and dress accordingly (usually shorts) and end up sticking to the leather so I am not much of a fan. The sectional is beautiful though. I'm sure it will wear in time and get more comfy. Speaking of comfy...boy did Randy look comfy reclined back in his new favorite seat...Lol! We ordered new carpeting several years back and the crew showed up with a carpet that was three times thicker than the one I ordered. It ended up being a huge ordeal (way more than what I'm writing) and the store (Lowes) gave me my refund at the store in cash...all small bills...over $3,000 in 5's, 10's, and 20's...unreal! I was afraid I was going to get mugged as soon as I left the store. We ended up going to a retailer about 40 miles away. It seems that the quality of service just keeps declining. I'm hoping my new recliner is what I ordered when it comes. On the bright side of things...I can't wait to see what you do with the new space. I love rearranging furniture!

I agree, don't like leather, not comfortable unless you sit in the recliner end they hurt my neck. Looks nice though. Did you keep the swatch so you could contest the color and they might replace it. It will not lighten over time. We ordered a leather sofa and matching recliner chair and the chair was much darker than the sofa, so I had them replace the leather chair with a fabric one for me, which I much prefer to the leather. In My humble opinion, I don't think the colour is going to change; the softness or stiffness will not soften any time soon. Agree with you, The pillows are a bit large.

Randy has been putting the cushions in the floor at night and standing on them.....and it's working!! The cushions are much softer and not so bubbled up in the middle.

Cool beans. It’s huge. Are you keeping the old ones? You should have made arrangements for them to haul the old stuff away if you didn’t want it if they even do that anymore. Clearly they aren’t into service. Throw the pillows in the dryer with damp cloths, if they fit. That should help get the wrinkles out and fluff them up.

You were a woman on a mission re the blue furniture!!...sometimes just being " ticked off" gives you enough strength to move mountains!!...Will not have a leather sofa as they are cold in the winter and hot in the summer, but they are gorgeous to look at!!...maybe some sconces it lights on the wall will help with your lighting situation. Best of luck getting Randy out of his recliner!!...lol!!

Love the new couch Renee! We bought a charcoal grey leather couch and two power recliners a few years ago. I bought rectangular cushions and they sit perfectly on the couch, and don’t slide off. Ours has softened, but maybe a bit too much in one spot. It’s very soft buttery leather. Our recliners don’t look like grandma’s, even though we are grandparents. They look very modern and are very comfortable. We had the same dinner tonight! Good Friday night dinner. Glad you managed to get your other couches moved. It’s harder as you get older to get new furniture, appliances, repairs, renovations, etc. because you need to do legwork too.

I actually love my off white leather sofa, but I wouldn’t allow my dogs on it because they can claw and slowly ruin the material over time. The leather is much better for allergies and pet dander cannot lodge in the fibers. That was sweet of you to get a recliner for Randy 💕

You’ll have to put a blanket there for the dogs. You know, they are banking on you not returning it because it’s wrong and it took you so long to get it. I wouldn’t care. I’d send it back. I love the beat up old leather couches, new ones not so much.

Hi Renee, love the sofa. You might want to put a throw or blanket on the part of the couch where dogs like to sit to prevent scratches on the sofa.

Nice new couch. I think if you put lighter pillows you may like better. The recliner looks nice & I think everyone could see Randy's face with so much happiness. Hope the longer you have it that it will grow on you. New Coffee table as well will set it off.

Beautiful Furniture protectant would be wise .... obviously real leather. Which I was informed when bought leather couch "leather is alive" must keep moisturized w' cleaner and leather treatment stuff. If not leather can crack. The recliner is very nice! Dogs will love the couch set too!
