Jim, I love your 2024 Garden revisit. Although I've never made a KZbin video (and I'm sure I never will), I take many pictures as reminders of my garden successes and failures in the previous year. I also note insect cycles from several years back, as a reminder to rotate crops, or what not to grow and where not to grow it. Blessings to you and Mrs. Midwest Gardener, and I hope you guys have a pleasant weekend. ~Margie🤗🫑🌶🌽🍅

Thanks, Margie! Taking photos and notes is a great way to keep track of you garden from season to season. The videos do the same thing for me. It will be time to plant before we know it. Have a great weekend!

As a fellow kansas gardener i have enjoyed stumbling across your videos. Its always nice to see how someone else grows things in the same climate zone

What a nice video, I found this both relaxing and inspirational. I noticed the picture of comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. Astronomy is my other hobby. There are times when the two hobbies, gardening and astronomy are not compatible with my need to rest. Take care Jim - Larry

Thanks, Larry! That need to rest holds me back sometimes too 😊

Nothing wrong with spending time observing and appreciating your garden. This was a great video to see the progression of your garden. It's obvious this is a labour of love.💗 🍅

It's great to have a head start on the season! It won't be long and we can plant outdoors.

What a great recap of your last year's garden. I'm sure you are anxious to get back out in the garden after a long winter's break. I don't grow nearly as much as you do. There's a lot of diseases and insects here in Florida. However, I'm getting ready for spring, I really want to grow a lot. Great tip about polinating tomatoes. Take care and have a great weekend 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

I noticed a hummingbird moth? at 8:44. I believe these moths are responsible for the tomato hornworm!!
@MidwestGardener
@MidwestGardener Күн бұрын
That is correct. It was a hummingbird moth. They are very entertaining to look at, but their caterpillars can be very destructive.

Good Morning Jim - Very much enjoyed your seasonal garden collage and listing of duties each month. I have never photographed or done videos of my garden but don't produce anywhere near as much as you do. I have so many seeds from past years I'm avoiding looking at the seed catalogs as it is so tempting. Thanks for sharing and have a nice weekend..

Good morning, Sue. Thanks for watching! You're making me want to browse those catalogs! I understand about having so many seeds from past years. If I had to, I could grow for years without buying more seeds.

P.S. Think I'm going to try some beets this year as they are SO delicious when cooked/eaten right after harvesting.
