To all those that are looking forward to riding in the Metro Rail Tunnel will be disappointed, when they realise that they won't be going through, South Yarra, Richmond, Parliament, Melbourne Central, Flagstaff, South Kensington,and North Melbourne, and also Southern Cross and Flinders Street anymore. The Metro Rail Tunnel is a waste of time and money, there are other things that the money could have been spent on, such as health, education, tackling the housing crisis, mending roads. The tunnel has been a budget blowout it should have been cancelled just like the Commonwealth Games were when it was realised that they were a budget blowout, the games would have bought much needed revenue into the state.

Going through the existing loop would defeat the point of this being a new alignment. All of the stations you mentioned still exist and can be accessed easily by changing trains which should become more frequent thanks to the capacity this project should unlock. Flinders and Melbourne central will be linked to 2 of the new stations via an underground walkway so 2 of the stations are effectively an expansion to existing stations. This project was overdue to expand capacity in the city and make cross city trips easier
