Netherlands is the only country in Europe that took the German at their game as "world champion exporter" beat them at it. The Dutch have a surplus trade with the mighty German. They're certainly a hidden champion... In my opinion they have the best infrastructure in the world, everywhere is like a modeled country on a table to feast your eyes on. Heel mooie!!!

Jentul Jay The Netherlands definetly have the best roads in the world, as they are free of charge, wide, safe and modern. Wouldnt want to change our airports or rail for yours though. The Economy of the Netherlands is quite good and compared to our mighty Germany even better per inhabitant. The seaport of Rotterdam is a huge benefit in the Netherlands, we lack of such a seaport. I am quite happy with Germany but i guess another government would be able to boost us even more, invest in infrastructure, stop Killing our mighty heavy industry chain and stop importing social problems. Greetings from Germany, Max, who has a Germany and a Netherlands flag at his wall ;)

What a beautiful drive!! Thank you for taking us all along in your camera for this drive. My brother-in-law comes from Leeuwarden and I have friends that live in Markenbinnen. I someday hope to get over there for at least a visit. Thank you for taking the time to do all the work that goes with creating a video this wonderful. Can't wait for the next installment. :)

The quality of pavement dropped faster than my grades when you entered Germany! Also I noticed the lack of distance signs, like: Haarlem 141 Amsterdam 134 Amersfoort 20 (or something idk the actual distance) why is that?
@Jila_Tana6 жыл бұрын
@Adventure Guy Lack of distance signs ? 02:11 Deventer 6, Hengelo 50 Did you expect greater distances or more signs ? The numbers are KM's Amsterdam is in the other direction, the vid is shot on A1 west to east.

@@lucasxxl4692 Eventhough its 2 years later I'd love to respond. The reason you can't see Haarlem or Amersfoort on the signs is because of the fact that this is the opposite side of the A1-motorway. You're going from Amersfoort to the German Border instead of the other way around.

Love all your videos! Is left lane discipline followed in the Netherlands as it us in Germany? Also, what is the autoroute speed limit in the Netherlands, and I noticed a few trucks in the passing lane. Is this allowed in the Netherlands? I live in New Jersey in the USA and trucks are not allowed in the left lane here because of the density of the traffic and this is a small state in area. Thank you! The roads in the Netherlands are some of the best in Europe!
@EuropeanRoads7 жыл бұрын
The speed limit in the Netherlands is 130 km/h (80 mph). There are passing bans for trucks on most of this route but some truckers ignore that.

Your country's so nice and also its drivers. I have a question, what do you mean by EU expansion eastward?
@MrWidejo7 жыл бұрын
The meaning of the EU expansion eastward is that countries such as Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and the Baltic States joined the EU in 2004 and 2007, which automatically led to a sharp increase in the amount of truck traffic. Those countries are geographically defined as Eastern Europe, as where the 'Eastward expansion' comes from.

14:40 Wow, I don't think I've ever seen concrete pavement on an Autobahn before, let alone any European road! I thought that concrete pavement was exclusively a North American thing.
@EuropeanRoads7 жыл бұрын
Germany uses concrete from time to time. Some other European countries also use some concrete, but there is also a shift away from concrete as maintenance and replacement requires too much time and traffic impact. The Netherlands does almost all its pavement resurfacing overnight, you can't do that with concrete.
@EuropeanRoads7 жыл бұрын
The final 15 km on the Dutch side also used to have concrete until 5 years ago or so. It was in very poor condition despite being only 20 years old. Lots of cracks and uneven slabs. It was replaced with asphalt. There are no concrete freeways anymore in the Netherlands.
@compdude1007 жыл бұрын
Yeah, concrete freeways aren't always the best idea. In Seattle where I live, our main freeway thru the city, I-5 still has many concrete panels that date from 1962 when the freeway opened. WSDOT ground them down a few years ago and replaced some of the panels that were in the worst shape, but still, the concrete was never meant to last as long as it did, and to completely replace it would cause utter traffic chaos in and around Seattle. Now if they'd just used asphalt pavement, they could close a few lanes of the freeway down for the night, repave it, and then be done by next morning!
@MerlinBerlin6 жыл бұрын
European Roads it definetly is a lot better now Yes. A short question, how often Did you speed this video? 2.5 times?
@adventureguy50886 жыл бұрын
Where I live in Northern Virginia, I-66 used to be all concrete pavement. Now they changed it to asphalt completely except a small part from US-50 to US-29 in Fairfax County. The pavement is much nicer to drive on and they actually repave it quite often. Probably best maintained road in the country imo. Almost to the quality of Dutch roads.
