A100 (A108) dodge van resurrection making a classic old dodge do what it was made to do...RUN

this van was sitting for a handful of years not running. My friend Marty purchased it and it was time to make it run. with low compression in 1 hole after a warm up a stuck valve went away and it was on all 8 again ( something that was forgotten to be mentioned in the video)...now its at home being transformed into a daily drive have fun Marty, Me and the Jacob did!!!

Back in the 70's we had a 1968 A108 panel van converted to a cool campervan . with a burned out 318. We got a HP 340 out of a wrecked dodge dart gts. The engine was recently completely rebuilt. It was a perfect transplant for our van. Bolted right on to our torque flite trans, a perfect match. Super dependable. We drove all over the western U.S. and Canada, never broke down. It had lots of power, decent gas mileage, the only drawback was that it only ran well on premium gas! It was a lot on fun driving that van. Fond memories.

Great memory, thanks for sharing. I love it. When I was just out of high school, a friend of mine, Scott bought a 68 and put in a 340. It was a blast, and what a sleeper nobody suspected what was coming.

I had a short van, 318. when fishing I came down a steep grade, rocks mud. Down at the bottom the jeep guys said, "how did he get here"? Great truck, did some hill climbing also.

So far his plans are to run it as is. Maybe in the future he would like to do a brake upgraded.

We had one and we put about 300 k on it. My Mother rolled it on its side and back up on its wheels and got a nasty bruise from the parking brake handle. They will vapor lock easy on you. Need to make a vent that lets some of that heat out of the engine cover .

Your right about the vapor lock. In fact one of the things marty mentioned to me is if its not to hot out it will start right back up no problem. But over a longer period of time it hast to be cranked a long time due to fuel being boiled out after a good heat soak. So your spot on

That’s a really nice place you’ve got John. If you take the fuel tank to a radiator repair shop and had it vatted it will look like new inside and out.
