Thank you. The steel case should last longer and ange nicer than the plastic version. So I’d probably go for a1000ma. I’m glad they got rid of the mother of pearl front in the new version

Great review. I’m a huge fan of Casio watches and I think this is the best looking watch Casio have ever produced. I liked it a lot from the pictures and videos when I bought it, but it’s even more beautiful in reality. And I adore the very high quality Polonaise strap which seems to be an upgrade from previous versions of the A1000.

I have the gold coloured version with the dark brown face. The module colour is also Gold coloured. I really like it. The bracelet is very comfortable and easy to adjust for a perfect fit too.

Cracking watch. Love mine and my A700. New display is awesome. Shadow effect is surely intended after blandness of the original. Casio a special brand

Yep, with Sapphire glass. A 168 gunmetal with metal case and Sapphire glass. I would give a lot of money for such a gem. Would be free money for Casio.

Were you able to swap the strap of the 158w onto the A1000 model? I have ordered the A1000, but I’m not a fan of the mesh strap. I also have a 158w and love the stainless steel strap on that model, so if the swap is possible, that would be perfect.

I think is is better than G-shocks.. it it compact & built like a tank.. But I still love my vintage casio marlin better than this a1000.. because casio marlin have circle Orings on the case back.. this has awkward gasket at the back which is harder to find & replace..

I own these Casio and both Casio Rag & Bone versions. Today in my country (Czech Republic) I only asked for a strap for a Casio Rag And Bone and the price for a separate strap is half of the price of the watch! 😂 Crazy!

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I like the direction Casio is going with it's vintage collection, but I don't think they're there yet. I would be far more interested in purchasing one of these (and prepared to pay more for it) if the case-back was screw-down and it was made in Japan. I think these are still made in China, like the cheaper G-Shock watches. I would also like a four button layout so that the adjust function is isolated at top left. This has always felt more premium to me than the 3 button layout. I have a vintage Casio W-750 Marlin from the mid 80's which has these features, but without the bulk of a G-Shock. I would love to see Casio release something more aligned to those early no compromise Marlin models. Until then I'll stick to the genuine vintage models and the newer premium G-Shock squares.

Yeah these are made in China. For a retro vintage watch that is 4x the cost of the resin models just for glass+steel+different band, they really should be made elsewhere. Id pay the full $100 for it to be made in Japan, but definitely not China. Malaysia and Thailand like $75. Pretty disappointing.

Why can’t o set the time to be correct? If I set it on 24 it shows 1am as 13.00 & when I turned it off it showed 1am as 1pm

I agree about the face, there seems to be too much blank space on it because the display area is small. I would have liked to have seen a bit more information or markers or something on that outer display area, to me it looks too sterile. Casio digitals like the F-91W are iconic for their distinctive cluttered faces and I think they should have incorporated some of that design into this.
