Yep. Parts numbers are so confusing. Maybe, 1989 means the 1989th design revision, or something like that or a part #, or the MacBook was released 1989 days after the initial prototypes. I don't know, I'm not an engineer, yet. :)

I brought my iMac into a place here in town and asked if they knew you. While the guy is helping me at the front somebody from the back yells out, “Why would we follow him when we can do what he does??” It was simply a point of conversation and the guy was totally full of himself and obviously has a big ego 🙄 If I could I would much rather come to your shop 😀

Me, too, thought this was going to be a lecture about how, in 1989, their efforts to *hide* or *close* the architecture of their products, was not as advanced or pernicious as they are today, and thus, it was going to be very easy to repair.

I liked the classic fix video and also the thoughts about somebody considered genius just because he can do something i can't. Way to go, Louis. Lately I've fixed my electric stove and even the main board (PCB) of my gas boiler/furnace. It was cheaper than calling a technician, quicker, but the best part? So I thought to myself "what would Louis do?" and soldered a crocodile clamp and a cable to a 1.5V AA Battery. Found the short, removed the cap. Greetings from Germany!

Tell me about it, I’m a mechanical engineer. The only way I can understand electronics is if it’s expressed in terms of fluid dynamics. Best analogy is always to compare electrical systems to a closed thermodynamic system, just treat the voltage as mass and current as flow rate.

We'll try to figure out whats gets hot using the au methot. I would usually use the thermal camera but I'm using linux and nothing work with lunix. So I can not use the thermal camera that I have with lunix because... well lunix. Oh there is no software for it. There I guess there would be if I coded it myself. But I'm not smart enough to do that. I'm barely even smart enough to use software that other people code for me like Paul Denials. So how do I be smart enough to code my own. _I am not a smart person. You just think I am smart because I know how to do something that you don't know how to do. And that is one of the biggest _*_fallacies(yanlış düşünce)_*_ in the world when people call people smarter-geniuses, because they can see that they know how to something they don't. It's one of the _*_coping mechanisms_*_ people have. It is coping mechanism. You see.. _*_If you say, instead of saying that is a normal person that knows how to do something I don't. It's like: Ok well.. you could learn it. Where as if you say Oh my god! That person is a genius! They're so smart! What you're doing is you are putting them above yourself to an extend that It kind of disables you from believing that you can actually accomplish what they've accomplised._*_ Which is why It's very important to me though always maintain on this channel (youtube) that I am an idiot! I am not going to give any of you an excuse to not learn, at least try to learn how to do what it is that I do. And that is the idea._ Get more people fixing things. Get more peaole learning. Get more macbook out of landfills. This was the best part for me. Always enjoing these kind of talk when you are doing your repairs.. Thanks again.
