I love the first scene with Priscilla. It’s so built up, we slowly zoom in on the back of her, waiting for her to turn around. She is the protagonist. Then we juxtapose this to our introduction to Elvis. She walks into the party and we simply cut to him. No big zoom, no big entrance. We cut to Elvis simply sitting on a chair, not even center frame. He’s next to another person. Elvis is just some guy and is not as important as Priscilla. I love it. One of the top 3 movies of the year.

Well Terry West was a made up character but was based upon a real person whom had accused Pricilla of offering sex to him in order to meet Elvis. She of course denied those claims, but a lot of Pricilla’s darker dealings can be found in book titled The Child Bride. It really shows a side to her that she never mentions within her own biography which she tries painting herself as the constant victim.

@ThirdEyeScribe if you read her book, you’d know it actually didn’t happen that way. Priscilla hung out at an American local diner. Currie Grant did a lot of entertainment there. She met him by going there a lot. Its wasn’t like..BOO!!! do you want to meet Elvis? lmao Back then who wouldn’t of wanted to met him? Just like celebrities today. To the other comment. Not my daughter. Please, kids these days don’t listen to their parents and Priscilla didn’t either. She would lock herself in her room for weeks, until she got her way, to be with Elvis.Times were different back then. We’re talking about 1959. My mom married not dated my dad at 14 and he was 18.

I saw this movie last night and found it quite creepy I’d forgotten she was so young and she looked young, I kept thinking why was a grown man who could’ve had any woman in the world so fixated on a child Then I wondered did he pick her so he could control her easier, control and train whilst grooming someone young He seemed to put her on some sort of pedestal, like the Virgin Mary, she had to behave in a certain way almost a prisoner whilst he went off making movies and performing doing as he pleased At the end of the day Priscilla wrote it and controlled the material and she’s the only one left No one can dispute it and by the end of the movie I still didn’t quite get any sense of who or what the real Priscilla or Elvis were

Elvis Presley clearly had a problem with grown women! His taste for a immature, little teenager, just 14, who was a child just weeks ago, is not normal. But the real scandal is, that the adults around were helping him to find a girl like that and then leave her alone. Everyone who think this is romantic should think twice. There are a lot of testimonies (neighbors and schoolmates in Germany, friends and ex boyfriends, people of Elvis inner circle )describing a very different Priscilla and they all tell a very different story about her (from the beginning to the end of her relationship with Elvis), her family and how things went back then. Very interesting and to me much more reliable than her "fairytale" that in many points doesn't stand up. @@joewhitehead3 we can say "a bit different" from the portrait she gives of herself. I advise you to read it, to have a different perspective. I always think the truth is in the middle but that book only confirmed what I've always thought about her and especially her family. They all saw the deal with Elvis and created their trap. Elvis had his faults too, but many people confirmed how he didn't want to get married. With that assumption the whole marriage has to be read in a different way. It was a failure from the beginning. And the fact this movie doesn't show the affairs she had in the marriage, says a lot. They just wanted to bash Elvis, not to tell the real story about Priscilla.
