Mark Anthony Guzman yeah but they also gave them the budget, the crew and the creative freedom. Had it been any other studio they probably wouldn't have been able to do any of what they did in the movie

Actually i had a conversation with benny safdie and he said that a24 did not give them a budget, they just distributed it. Its like saying Taxi driver was a masterpiece all thanks to columbia pictures. It is the director who is responsible if the film is good or bad, most of the time.

The Safdie Brothers created the characters and the style of this film is from the minds of the Safdie Brothers not A24. Robert Patterson contacted the Safdie Brothers after witnessing a glimpse of their art in the form of a picture from Heaven Knows What (another Safdie film). After the Safdie Brothers and Robert Patterson met they started creating the characters and the script. A24 did nothing with this art accept put a picture frame around it.

A24 is still deserving of praise for helping a 'little' film like this get the distribution it did; unless you were already a fan of the Safdies and following their work, you could argue that they are the reason so many of us heard of the film/were able to pop down and go see it. But yeah, the concept that they had any influence on the film's look, etc is inaccurate. Producers are often unsung heroes in that regard, but not distributors

its insane how good and realistic robert pattinson was in this film i’ve seen so many people act like him especially during the hospital scene where he’s talking to the cop he reminds me of people who shoplift and make conversation before they do it its such an amazing role

He acts exactly like a guy that holds you up on the street to mug you. Hold a friendly, but tense conversation just to pull a knife on you type of guy. Fantastic acting.

yes I have seen a lot of movies with thugs but robert pattinson was the only one that gave me that feeling that this is a legit thug his acting was perfect

A24 will go down in film history sure why not, but I've seen a lot of A24 films and none of them were quite like this. A24 didn't make this film, Benny and Josh Safdie made it, and it's breathtaking. I cannot believe how good Benny Safdie's acting is in this film, and yet he also did an incredible job co-directing it.

dan Because I aspire to be a filmmaker and love A24 as well for the freedom they give auteurs, but I realize I don’t have the talent and am depressed so I put others down to try and feel better but I still feel like shit. Hope that helps.

@@NoneNotNone dude...i don't know what to tell ya besides that I too would love to be a successful filmmaker and I don't know about you but filmmaking is a craft, you have to keep making shity films to make good ones. If you ask me if I have the talent I would say not YET coz I know my films are shit but one day...with enough dedication hard work and experience I will make something of quality. Trust me when I say that you are not the only one, critically acclaimed directors have gone through what we are living but the difference between them and the rest that have "failed" is hard work and experience. You can find Spielberg's first short on KZbin and it is quite awful BUT LOOK AT HIM NOW!! I recommend you this book by Robert Rodriguez called " a rebel without a crew" it is a brilliant book for aspiring filmmakers on their journey to succeed even if you have no crew and no money I'm sure in 8 to 15 yrs (if you don't give up) I'll see you on the red carpet of your first film at sundance :)

This is probably one of Pattinson’s greatest films. He illustrate how he can be more than just the vampire from Twilight. I like that guy from Harry Potter where he never really moved on from that.

A24's GoodTime is pretty great. It reminds me of Columbia Pictures's Taxi Driver. Still not as good as Paramount's The Godfather though. Might even be better than DC's Joker.

Look, I understand what you're trying to say. In most films I would agree, but for this film the score is so integral to the feel that it fits during the more intense sequences.
