Thanks for the great flight matt. My dad owned a piper Cherokee 140 many years ago, I flew some with him. This brought back a lot of wonderful memories, Thanks again!!!

Awesome video and stunning scenery! It's also real nice to see someone who actually looks out the window, not has his head stuck to the instruments. I know this is VFR but still makes a change. Flying is also about the views!

I got my PPL at Liverpool Airport, flying the PA38 mostly but crossed over onto the PA28. Great aircraft, nice piece of airspace to fly in. My cross country qualifier was Liverpool - Wolverhampton - (Corridor) - Blackpool - Liverpool.

***** Yeah, I recognised your VFR departure, through Chester VRP if I remember right? Really nice video, I've popped that PA-28 on my wishlist, blows Flying Club X out of the water! As a professional air traffic controller, I wish all the GA pilots I spoke to were as clear and standard as you!!

Hi Belynz from training in the piper cherokee you should always trim to climb at 75 knots and cruise at 100 knots and you should aim to land at or between 80 and 70 knots. :)

Hi Matt, nice video mate. I live in Warrington so I'm in between Liverpool & Manchester, I noticed the scenery must be Orbx!! Unfortunately it looks like Orbx have never seen the Northwest as it looks nothing like it. When flying anywhere in the Northwest their is nowhere near the amount of greenery to see. It's a concrete jungle, in fact the only greenery your likely to see from up there are football pitches lol.

Those taxi turns are so smooth. I am new to simming and have been doing the taxi module in FSX's lessons (MUCHO MACHADO) and the Skyhawk handles like potato on the ground. I have my rudders - a set of Saitek Combats - set to minimum sensitivity in the FSX control setup. I couldnt see anywhere to set a curve. It seems I nudge a little rudder in, and the cessna sort of goes nnnneeeeOOOOOOOWWWW and picks up this large turn rate. I have taken to just giving it "kicks" and trying not to go too fast... but yeah. Is it just skill to turn well or am I missing something? :D

No intention of criticising but your approach speed should be the stall speed times a 1.3 factor. You came in at 80 knots which is why you bounced. The stall speed with flap is 55mph on the Cherokee 180, so final approach speed will be 70mph with 2 stages of flaps. In real life I normally dump the last stage at about 400 feet due to ground effect but I'm sure that ground effect is none existent on flight simulator! But yeah, try 70 knots approach speed see how you find it :)

Matt - maybe seeing the response you've had to these northwest video's consider touching base with me, and together with city airport (Barton) see if we can pull a hangout/meet & greet together For the community? Im an admin on tweaking community for fsx on Facebook and we could pull in a few notorious (good notorious not genius notorious) people, Maybe a small one at first see how it goes? Barton has hangers for a few tables, to stick a few Pc's onto, do a brief in the main tower, networked event...etc. Just throwing the Idea out to you. Come back to me if you think this idea has legs. Best regards

Hi mate. If you get any interest from the community on this then drop me an email at david.woodward@cityairportltd.com and I'll speak with the powers that be to see what we can sort out for you at the airfield. I can't promise anything but we'll see where we can get with it.

@eastonwilliams17228 жыл бұрын
Thismaycontainuts Do you know how to fix a problem with the landing lights? I know that you should be able to make them volumetric and 3D by Changing them to custom in the configurator but for some reason this plane doesn't have it like the Cessna 182 and Piper Comanche do, then when I turn the landing lights in no light comes out of the bulb on the Cherokee, there is light from the build but not illuminating the ground in front of it...

Ha! You're a legend! I haven't had them yet but then I've only flown once to Alaska from Seattle and I was lean from taxi to landing, I was so scared to foul them.
