Like sixteen, he kind of realized that taking away the girls confidence (demoting them to minor) makes them perform worse, not motivate them to perform better. I agree!. You got that right -- passion, dedication, and hard work toward the goal. He knows his training systems can enhance the skills like singing, dancing, speaking, and even knowledge. However, in the upcoming episodes,, I'm more than certain you'll notice what he puts the more emphasis on ..is personality. (I'm a Korean, and have watched all the contests where he was a, or the only, judge, including the latest NIJI project done in Japan yrs. ago., and I can attest he consistently emphasized the same things.) He's not seeking any Me-Only self-centered person, but rather someone who can collaborate, harmonize, and create synergy. Personally, I've already observed a contestant who is too focused on herself only, and could potentially become like a "condescending, know-it-all, full-of-complaining" individual, if she were to debut.

@@Odysseus_Outis yeah when I've watched the Niziu before, he pick candidates who could harmonized/binding with each other as a group. And Maya's group exactly nailed it. Even though Miihi is not good in rapping when she did the rapping of "make you happy" song but you could see she is happy to do the rapping for her group eventhough its not her forte. They looked naturally binding as a group. Thats why all Maya's member debuted as Niziu

But we'll eventually get to see who the person(s) is/are as the show goes along keeping this perspective in mind. This is because JYP will be providing some missions to clearly identify those abilities and filter out the less competent contestants, in that aspect.

I am worried as a US citizen because I know my culture prioritizes rebellion and sass in youth, and at worst brattiness from parents who do not raise kids to respect others. I was scared of how the girls would be and am still watching carefully for any signs of hidden rude behavior. I wondered if we got less Melissa and Mischa screen time because of that.

the amount of OBVIOUS improvement since their auditions is literally giving me chills. These girls are proving that they're hard working and take criticism amazingly. And what I like about this show compared to the western versions of these sorts of shows, is if they perform well, they are acknowledged as such. None of this fake artificial criticism to make the judge seem like they are seeing something no one else in the world can see because they aren't nearly as discerning (looking at you Simon). If they have a great performance, they are told so and awarded as such.

As a Korean who has seen JYP for a long time, the vocal evaluation is real. A lot of contestants get eliminated there. There may be singers who can't dance, but there can't be singers who can't sing. That's why KG got Stone.

But it's a k pop grp which entails singing n dancing. She looks talented enough here in her dancing in a small grp (or not) but cruel truth is that many companies trainees including jyp trainess themselves are way better than her at dancing. Thousands of them can outdance her anytime. I genuinely question her ability to pick up choreo in a short amt of time if that was what she presented after like a month to practice. She should pursue a solo singing career or maybe do country like TS instead.

@@noeliagomez5882 To be honest, singing well is much harder than dancing well. Vocal skills don't work just by trying. With a lot of dance practice, KG can reach a certain level or higher. Not dancing well is not a problem to worry about. And if you look at KG's dance, you can see her shaking her pelvis, and it's not that she has no talent for dancing at all. If she dances well, she can grow into an all-around 5 tool player like Bruno Mars. As she debuted as a girl group, she can also perform as a solo artist. That's why JYP describes her as a diamond gemstone. JYP values a mind that improves itself with enthusiasm. She doesn't have many faults.

One of the things JYP look for is also character, and its those small interactions that count too I think. When KG tried to uplift and encourage the contestant who didnt get a stone, I think they notice those interactions.

Cristina was sooo good. When she decides to dance sneakers I was like: " great choice, there are very large movements and it's makes you being more flexible". And she proves it! 😢 I love KG energie today! She had the expressions, the mouvements, everything for me! It's an honor/ pleasure to see them growing up in this competition😊.

I'm super glad Cristina took her criticism in stride and worked hard because she CRUSHED it. She even had the lip-syncing down pat. Someone with a bigger ego and smaller will for this competition might look at their impressive list of accomplishments and turn their nose up at the harshness received at the audition, but instead, she made big moves and worked at it to live up to them. Everyone did so well, but she really stood out to me since she probably had the best case for a legitimate, personal gripe, whether warranted or not, so her character shined through that much brighter.

Although Melissa and KG Crown are not that experienced with dancing, I am still rooting for them because they can improve their dance and they are strong vocalists. KG crown also showed improvement already. I like Kendall and Cristina. They both have a lot of personality when they dance.

Kendall is so cute. Especially, her facial expression while dancing is like a kpop star and makes me fall in love with her cuteness. KG was almost a log during the preliminaries. Wow, it looks like she's on her way to being a dancer now. Christina! hm I was very impressed with her. Even if she's close to lip-syncing, wouldn't she be the only contestant who sang while dancing? This means she put as much effort into perfecting the song as she did. This must have been a stage that left a deep impression on JYP.

One thing to note for this evaluation is to see their improvements compared to auditions, not if they're better than others, or if they turned into top tier professionals. It's a fight between oneself! So I can see why KG got the stone compared to the others who are seemingly better skills wise, she was enjoying it the whole time & let herself lose with the choreo. She improved a lot.

Yeah her getting the stone made sense. Like you said, its them competing against their own selves and skills. Showing constant improvement and growth after getting feedback is a great thing to show especially in these types of competitions

I was really impressed with KG’s and Kendall’s attitudes and dedication. they knew they weren’t great at dancing but worked really hard and they want to continue to work hard to improve their skills, I’m proud of them. And I think that with her great voice and vocal talent KG can definitely debut, because you can learn how to dance, but you can’t learn to be a naturally great vocalist

cristina made me smile throughout her whole performance! i honestly wasn't expecting much but i acknowledged even from the regionals that she had clean movements. this performance of hers was so fun to watch! she was still clean but better and felt the most natural. the most fun part was probably her lip syncing the entire song! her effort paid off and this episode just drew me closer to her :) i'm rooting the most for her, lexus, savanna, gina, and kaylee.

So far, I’m rooting for: Lexus, Camila, Savanna, Yuna, Lexi, Gina, Kaylee. However, if all of them could debut, I’d love that! But I do know that some might not make it. EDIT: didn’t expect this many likes and ALSO just since I see some controversy in the comments, please note that kaylee and Gina will be within the range of 15-17 by the time they debut, as this was filmed a while back and they will also be trained for quite a while before debuting! Also, I’m rooting for Kaylee because of her *talent and control. JYP himself already said she had more knowledge, views, and talent in singing and dancing than anything he’d seen at regionals. And we can only assume she improved even more over her possible training period and boot camp prep.* ANDDD please stop bringing race into this, it’s a global girl group for a reason.

for me, by far, Cristina's dance is the most satisfying. She dances accurately. Her posture and small details are exactly like the original choreography. Super neat performance! So perfect. (Also it's super awesome how she lipsyncs ALL the lyrics perfectly throughout the performance)

J Y Park’s evaluation comments really touch my heart and make me want to cry. He really respects all contestants and shows love to each of them. Most of all, he understands girls’ tremendous effort from their performance, and that’s what amazes me the most.
