beautiful video.. thanks for showing us the best office in the world. can you please give us some tips about putting flaps? as i remember correctly; you said put flap 1 at 18nm, flap 2 when the aircraft can not handles 180kts, gear down at 7/8nm, flap 3 when gear is down and locked, flaps full after flaps 3. is it correct? also i have 2 more questions. when to deploy flap 2 when aircraft doesn't accelerate and holds flap speed perfectly (i generally put flap 2 at 8 nm or when g/s captured), last question what is correct flap deployment procedure in VOR / NDB, LOC or RNP approaches?

Thanks, I’m glad you like it ;) If you like you can checkout the KZbin channel of Threshold (X-Plane) you will find their Type Rating series I created together with them. And soon there will be more videos :)

@@hectopascal thank you man for quick answer, but i already watched the full serie and this comment is about it. can you please answer the flap question? no need for detailed answers, you can take it short.

@@Aviator738 alright so the SOP basically is to have F1 selected prior to caputre the ILS GS, once on the GS it depends on your speed when to select F2 but it must be before reaching 2000RA/TDZE - afterwards Gear Down latest at 5NM followed by F3 and F Full to be fully stabilized at 1000RA/TDZE. Hope that answers your question :)

hi, nice videos :) but why do you do an autoland if you see the runway? i reflew your approach on xPlane in real LVO conditions. :) looking forward too see new videos. Happy landings

Still low cloud affecting visibility so why not

Thanks for your comment :) IRL it is not really up to us who decides which approach we fly. The ATC decides it based on actual conditions and broadcasts the information on the ATIS. In this case they put LVP (Low Visibility Procedures) in force based on the very low RVR in the Rollout and Taxi area. As soon as an Airport is in LVP we have to fly a higher than CAT I APP (So CAT II or III) which always means an Autoland in the company I fly for. Also keep in mind that these kind of weather conditions can change within minutes so even if we were lucky and could see the first half of the runway it could have looked very different just minutes before ;)
