You are correct, the A350-900 uses the large Centre Tank and Airbus have just introduced more fuel in this Tank meet the range. The A350-1000ULR ( project Sunrise ) utilises this extra Centre Tank fuel plus it has a Rear Centre Tank positioned behind the main landing gear bay which is a structural Fuel tank the same as the A340-500 for even more range.
@Sterlingjob

If you could get more detail on the Project Sunrise A350-1000 spec that would be useful - we can imaging the -900ULR changes being adopted, but likely it will require an extra fuel tank and a shortened FWD or AFT hold. Given the 6-wheel landing gear, an increase in the MTOW beyond 316 T should be structurally OK. Say 320 or 325 tonne. Wing Area will likely need a small increase. We are looking at fuel being 45% of TOW for Sydney-London.

G'day Dj, Yes, this is a most helpful video, for me and I guess lots of others. To me, Airbus aircraft look, generally, very similar, apart from their number and letter designations. However, once an AirBus is painted up in most airlines' liveries, it's hard for me to tell which Airbus it might be. I still haven't learned all the differences in Airbus winglets or wing extenders, if they have them, so that's not much help in telling them apart, for me. I've got so used to Boeing's and Lockheed's differences but AirBus variants aren't easy to tell apart with just a short look, or if seen from a distance. (I'd make a terrible plane-spotter these days.). So, yes, a short video course in telling them apart would be appreciated. Cheers, and take care over there in London... BH
@Sedna063
@Sedna063 2 жыл бұрын
I find the Airbuses extremely easy to tell apart. Easier than the 767 / 777 variants (except the 777-300ER). A300 - relatively short and wide. A310, short and wide. A320 - standard Airbus. A321 - rather long and thin. A319 rather short. They typically have sharklets or winglets (all the A320 Family). A330 - twin jet with winglets that look like a tablet was welded on to it. A340 - quad jet with only only one passenger cabin (only one in service really except in Iran) and same winglets. A350 - Zorro Mask, twin jets and very gracefully elegant winglets. Massive engines. A380 - double deck quad jet.

Singapore Airlines A350-900 ULR has premium economy class they called, it takes up 1/3 of the whole capacity and the rest is business class.. the forward cargo compartment is not being used, so the forward cargo lining and side walls is not installed, leaving the wall, floor and ceiling opened so you could see all the wires, cables, oxygen tanks and so on...because for extra long haul they don't carry cargo except for passenger bags..so they still use the aft cargo and bulk cargo compartment. the rest of the aircraft still the same like the regular A350-900 that they use..
@Sterlingjob
@Sterlingjob 4 жыл бұрын
The ulr forward cargo bay is empty and not used. Also the difference between the 900 and 1000 is the on the 1000 a different venting system is used to allow the tank to be filled up. The 900 doesn’t fit as much fuel in the centre!

@jacobzimmermann59 4 жыл бұрын
"The best ever" made doesn't mean much. One could argue that both the original A300 and the A320 were much more disruptive to the industry than any Airbus model since then. The A320 especially propelled Airbus forward as a force to be reckoned with, so in that sense it was probably the best new model Airbus had ever made. By another definition, the A330 family has been a phenomenal and somewhat unexpected commercial success, so maybe that was "the best" as far as ROI and sales are concerned. The A320 Neo was a commercial masterstroke and it was probably "the best" tactical move Airbus ever did. The A380 of course remains the best Airbus from a passenger experience point of view. But unquestionably the A350 is the most accomplished aircraft Airbus has ever released and probably the most thoughtfully designed. For passengers it's also the second-best aircraft to fly on after the A380 and yes, I'm also eager to see how the 777X will compare in that regard. From what we know so far, the 777X will have a wider and more spacious cabin, on the other hand the A350 will still be quieter and have a lower cabin altitude. The competition will be tough, as it should.
