Daniel is a fucking monster. I've been drumming for 15 years and I have so much respect for the stamina and accuracy, more than most metal bands you'll ever see.

Ya know... this is by far my favorite song of theirs off the album but, hearing it lives just changes my whole mood about it. The hell man?

I feel less moved by a lot of the live videos than the studio recordings too. The songs are mixed just right and leave your mind to explore the song in your own imaginary way, and deafheaven songs make some beautiful songscapes. But the direct live audio just doesnt have the magic. I saw them live though and they sound amazing in the room. If they could record a good clean room sound instead of using the board, deafheaven videos would probably be much better

George’s voice sounds terrible here. Not sure if it’s the mix/recording or maybe he was tired from touring. If you want a live video of them that actually sounds good watch their audiotree far out

@@silasfitzgerald7887 yes the audiotree performances were fantastic. His voice sounded excellent on Worthless Animal too and george nailed the scream at the end. Ive heard a lot of deafheaven performances on youtube where georges voice doesnt sound good at all and theyre usually direct audio from the board and not a room sound, and tbh direct board sound almost never sounds as good as it does in the audience unless you are just a perfect singer. Chris isaak can probably sound amazing every time on a board sound vocal track, but even chris cornell sounds not so great compared to his usual reputation on a boardsound. Ive also seen deafheaven live and from the audience, every bit of the show sounded amazing. The instruments levels were just right and georges vocals definitely had some effects on it, a lot of reverb, but it mixed so well with the whole band and the room sound was top notch. Plus, he might not sound so great every single night, especially at the end of the show. The moral of the story is dont judge georges abilities on this video alone. Check out their pitchfork music festival set or the audiotree set or see them live in person for a better experience.

I've seen them live once and they played this song rather slowly, and the bass was just too damn loud. Totally took all the energy out of the song IMO. This mix here isn't very good, especially during the blast beat section. I think George's voice does sound tired but is also too loud compared to everything else. We can barely hear the guitars and again the bass's lows are just too loud. I can barely make out what the bass is playing. There's just so much imbalance in between sections.
