@@ABIMOTO I did that 8U Q3 today and boy what a mission, the harness has to run all the way to the fuse box and bcm under steering wheel, be connected in etc. With the coding I followed a very similar method to you, except in the 69 trailer coding I went country code then all 00's otherwise I got a "Check towing bracket" fault on the dash. The module still works if you select 00 or no coding in the tow module.

Easy with out taking the exhaust done completely just drop the hangers and you can get your hand in there

Yeah I tried that but in the end I just found it easier to drop the exhaust out of the way.

Hi great video. I fitted one to my car years ago but could get anyone to code the car. I was wondering do you not have to do anything to the engine management system. which notifies the engine that the car will be pulling something which changes the performance of the engine for cooling. Could this be done via a Carly OBD system? if anyone as done it can you point me in the direction to that.

@@ABIMOTO cheers I am also having an issue with getting the fog lights to work. I have one of these test gadgets that you stick in the back of the 7 pin socket and all lights work apart from the fog light. I've read online that when the car is in tow mode it automatically switches off it's fog lights and just sends power to the trailer. Do you know if this works with this test device plugged in or do I need to try it on an actual trailer / caravan ?

Yes you need to try it with the trailer or caravan connected. I'm sure the cars rear fog light is disabled when hooked up to stop glare.

From memory the red connector was part of the wiring kit.

How did you do the calculations for the abs break code ??

Using the help function on vagcom it will tell you what number needs to be deducted from your existing code if you are now adding a control unit.

Hi there. These a little tab on the connector block. You just need to push it down with a small flat head screwdriver and then the wire will pull out of the connector block. Hope that makes sense
