I'm glad to see that it's maturing as a product and platform. The start was rough, but they've been cranking out steady updates and it's really shaping up.

Absolutely. At the current state it is a nice little Amiga-emulatorbox I enjoy using and I am now glad I have it.

I always look forward to videos by the calmest man on the Amiga scene and your latest doesn't disappoint. From what looked like a disaster when you first reviewed the A600GS, this is now looking like a really nice piece of kit at a very reasonable price. I couldn't see what web browser you were using. Does iBrowse work with it? At the SWAG meet in October the team mentioned they were working on compatibility with it but that it wasn't working with the GS at that point.
@proteque10 күн бұрын
Thank you for your very kind comment. The A600gs is indeed a machine I enjoy and use a lot now. So there will naturally be some more videos about it. They have fixed everything that was a problem for me. I'd wish it was more powerful sometimes but I have settled on using it for what it is made for and use real Amiga or UAE on pc when I need faster or more complex setups. In this video I use the Amifox browser. It is made by amitopia dev team. I made a video about the browser a while back if interested. It is a server/client application so it uses a cloud server for rendering (or you can host yourself on a pc/rpi). Very cool way to see modern pages on a vintage Amiga. Ibrowse does not work but according to their wiki aweb does work.

Thanks for such a detailed update - great to see the improvements and I plan to get ours up and running as not had the chance yet! Really appreciate your time and effort to demonstrate all of this. Looks great - really good update. The A1200 case board sounds interesting too.

It was time to update I think. I wish I had the drawbridge up an running, but I couldn't wait any longer I felt. Enjoy getting yours up and running :)

@@proteque Hey Proteque, hope you're doing better now. Please remember that your videos / content, are a meant to be a hobby (an enjoyable one at that !) AFAIA this isn't your full time job ! @Geordie-Jedi-77 thanks mate. Things is better and will be back to normal. But taking things slow and not care too much about schedule. You are right, tinkering with old computers and making KZbin videos is something I do because I enjoy it. Not in any way something that looks like work. (Luckily). Thanks for the kind words. Hope things is good at your end.

Heisann! Takk for fin video!
@protequeАй бұрын

Great to see this thank you. Happy New year. I like the concept and the hardware itself, but can this not be replicated on a PI or a PC? At least the software side of it at least? Im quite interested at the moment and im wondering if i should invest in this product this year.
@proteque6 күн бұрын
If you enjoy the tinkering most of this is doable with a pi5 or a pc. Absolutely. I have setup similar myself earlier with the use of emulationstation as front end and scripts launching various Amiga setups with fa-uae behind it. It is more work, but also fun. The Amibench/AROS stuff is a bit harder to do though. But is doable. Most components behind the scene is open source. The GS use Amiberry on Linux. I am a "do both" person myself. But if forced to choose I would choose a n100 based pc and make Linux invisible to the eye. Because I love the tinkering:)

Nice video and great re-review. On my system I have not managed to make my Amiga mouse working unfortunately. So, for the time being I'm stuck with a standard USB mouse.
@protequeАй бұрын
@@MauroSanna it is not supported. Only joystick. So "the mouse" (the one for A500 mini) or the wireless "tank mouse" is what most people use.

@@proteque I see. I thought it would support the DB9 original mouse, given it is mentioned in the DB9 ports settings (if I am not mistaken).

I don't own any myself so I haven't tested any. I prefer cabled because through the years BT has given me nothing but problems. Hope you manage to get it working. Things like that are annoying..

As an owner of 3 Amigas (A500+, A600, A1200), a Vampire V4 Standalone and a MiSTer FPGA, do I need this? I think YES.

haha. Well. This is how it goes. It keeps growing. I don't own a Vampire yet myself. I hope one day to see/try one in the flesh :)

Thank you for this video. I bought it at your same time I believe and after 4 hours of using it I decided it is not for me. I decided not to sell it, one never knows and you gave me the answer. I will try what you did and see if it works. I need to do also a lot of updates since for more than 6 months I never touched it. Thank you a lot for your video. I will make a stream of it being upgraded and see what I will get. If I am not satisfied, it with return into the box and won't look at it till more updates happen. Thanks

Hope you have some fun while testing it. I was pretty much in the same situation!

Heisann Good to see all the updates. What is the max resolution you can have in P96 ? Is it 1080p? How many colors . I like my Amiga WB as close to HD as I tend to have a zillion windows open :)
@protequeАй бұрын
For that use if AROS is not suitable for you I would rather go for amikit on the rpi5 with nvme storage. Costs about the same and is a lot faster for emulating those big box Amigas with rtg etc. The A600 is better for quick gaming with a real joystick and testing the current state of AROS. In a way the A600gs is a competition to the A500mini (i prefer the 600gs over the mini myself). AROS is not on par with AmigaOS and Workbench yet. As I only have HD monitors myself I am unable to answer, but I am running Amibench in 1080p 16bit here (from memory. Could be 32bit). I don't have wb running p96 on it. Not sure if I can.

I haven't tested. But I see no reason why the Real Hardware HDF version of AGS should not work. But that is only theory. I have not tested :)

Hi, how the hell do you exit sysinfo? to bring up the menu to go back to Amibench? which key do you press that you can't see in the video? thanks a lot

F12 brings up the menu if you have a PC keyboard. On my setup it is the help key.

How did you map your original keyboard?????
@protequeАй бұрын
I use arduino. and have a firmware on it that makes it look like a normal USB keyboard to any pc. If you google "AMIGA 500/1000/2000 Keyboard Interface" and follow the first hit that sends you to the arduino forum you will find everything you need to know. The software is open so you can change it if you need to. Or just use it as is.
