In this video i go over what caused this code. In this case the harness had to be updated. The updated harness is a one piece harness and the Temp sensor is built right in. The valvebody has to come out to remove and install the updated internal harness. I also show how to remove the valvebody, install the new harness and reinstall the valvebody. There is also a TSB on this code Hyundai Bulletin #14-AT=010.
Happy Easter to all and please stay safe.

Of course you can’t just buy the sensor. Of course they updated the harness so you have to buy a whole huge part for an issue with a little sensor. Of course. These people have a special place in hell that profit from that crap. But that is no comment on you and the service you do, Gary! You’re a gem for teaching people!

Thanks for this video. I just used it to help me fix my mom's 2011 Santa fe. The lower right bolt on the pan is rough to get to in the car because of the cradle, but it was pretty straight forward. I also had to remove the air box, the battery and tray, and the cooler lines.

Hyundai has issued yet another TSB #20-AT-014H. Pretty much same info as on previous TSB. But with updated models. Same info you provided. Replace with updated harness......issued 4-9-2020 probably same time you was filming this video.

Hi gary, I watch a lot of your videos and I have learned so much. Thank you. I live in Belize, central america. Don't know any other way to contact you. I have a problem with a6mf1 kia sportage. With delay going into 3rd gear. Changed speed sensors changed solenoids still have problem. Is there any advice you can give? Would really appreciate it.

Fantastic video! I always appreciate people sharing how to fix a problem they know others have as well. I'm considering doing this repair myself. Being that I can actually get the old style stand alone sensor, would there be any problem with replacing just the sensor on a 2012 sonata like they used to do? Do I really need to pull the valve body and switch to the new style?

Hi Gary do you happen to know what could be bad in a E40D Transmission on a 1996 Ford F-250. The symptom is that the truck dies when I shift it in to D or Secod but I doesn’t die in reverse or low gear I pulled the codes and I only have one which is the 629 for the tcc circuit. I did my checks and the solenoid has 20ohms resistance and my wiring is good the tcm seems to be working good so I’m thinking is internal in the transmission. I don’t know if there is another test that I can do ? Thank you in advance

Hello! If possible, I would like to ask you for an opinion, or an adviser to guide me, I saw some videos that you upload on youtube when I was trying to understand a problem that I have with my car, and precisely with my automatic gearbox, it's been almost a month since it appeared, it's when I start the engine I hear a noise like a purr, and I'm almost 90% sure that it comes from my automatic gearbox of my hyundai accent RB model 2017, and the sound stops when i put the gearbox in R position

Great video but I don’t understand why we’d have to change the WHOLE harness just for the temp control sensor. Seems like a waste of time and money for the consumer but more money in the pocket of the mechanic. Also more money to the manufacturer.
