Yeah, it doesn't exactly make sense. But he's already sent shock waves through space with his punches before in comics.

@@spiritofvengance9876 shock waves can definitely occur in space, both collisionless and collisional ones. Sonic booms will not be audible though, since the energy (and corresponding frequency) released cannot be heard.
