there's no point in asking syn any questions here, it is not his channel. the guy who runs the channel won a free lesson with syn and that's where the "subscribe to a7xentertainment" clip is from as well as this harmony lesson:)

I've always loved how he writes harmonies. I could tell how meticulous he is about them just by trying to learn them. It's definitely not as easy as other guitarists make it.

I don’t even play guitar and have no idea what he’s talking about but I’m loving it
@terrillt19986 жыл бұрын
It’s mostly music theory stuff lol
@TheSamuraiApocalypse6 жыл бұрын
If you tried picking out these harmonies by ear you'd start to see how meticulously crafted they feel. I play guitar but I know very little about music theory. Just being vaguely familiar with some of those terms is good enough for me. The only reason they're familiar is because I've been watching guitar tutorials for 7 years. No need for expensive classes.
@subutaynoyan53726 жыл бұрын
Most licks are constructed by some scales and theoretical structures. A section that is crowded by a ton of notes are usually based on a few main notes, the rest are various fills and scales to create a certain feel. Like when a jazz band is jamming, they usually know only the basic scales of the thing will initially start from, the rest gets improvised based upon harmonical theories. Music is like math, there are certain formulas, principles and rules you need to comprehend and engage in your playing to get it right.
@ThatOtherRaccoon6 жыл бұрын
Basically if the tune is in A Major let's say. Then: "A B C D E F G" what they play "D E F G A B C" what you play It's partly based on the scale, the third note from the root, and a whole lot of theory. This is a ROUGH explanation of what he's doing.
@ExternusArmy6 жыл бұрын
What he is referring to about avoiding 4ths and 5ths is a concept in music theory called Consecutive 4ths and Consecutive 5ths. This was forbidden by musicians for the same reason he was talking about here. It’s obvious he went to school for music and knows his stuff.
@americanmetalhead73185 жыл бұрын
gaylord you dont need to go to school to learn theory. It’s all over the internet if you just look it up.

What I learned was harmonizing with 4ths and 5ths get boring. And in his artistic mind he still likes it at random and I believe I may be wrong but prefers minor 3rds major 6ths. And that he can't tune that shit right now

Is there a way that we can play what we hear in our head? I have crazy ideas but i just cant seem to know where it is on the guitar :,(
@DukeHoz6 жыл бұрын
You need more practice and know your fret better, tuning is pretty important too, also don't think with your mind, pick your guitar and mess around until something comes out

Search one note at a time until you have all of them. May take a while but if you practice it you will get better and faster
@MrMassmahem6 жыл бұрын
Start with the first note/chord and sing it continuously and play different notes on the guitar until one matches. Once you’ve found it move to the second one. I Don’t know if this is the “correct way” but that’s how I do it. Another good thing I do is record myself singing the note and listen to that
