Hello Question I have a 13" vertical android Telsa style headunit (PHOENIX Automotive), I just purchased a 17" android flip down monitor(xtron CM179) The problem I am having is the headunit is vertical the monitor shows horizonal both have screen mirroring but when I screen mirror from headunit it only shows vertical not horizonal? Because I cant rotate the headunit?

Hello buddy. aa mirror plus was working fine until my phone "xiaomi 11 pro"upgraded to miui 14 and mirror plus stopped working. Just wondered if there was a work around. It's a shame there isn't a way to fool Netflix that the phone (connected by cable) mirroring is 'not there' and it thinks its standalone playing. My Carpuride android unit comes ready for apple and android . In android I have Google maps but no playstore or browsers. I read somewhere that when mirroring that you need to turn wifi off to/on the unit. I've not tried it yet , will do later. Is there an easy way to Root that you know how to do ?

Yeah I've always wanted to view netflix in my car. But netflix itself doesnt allow screen mirroring which noone, in a legal way, has been able to break yet. I honestly do no support rooting a device which is why I never even tried to even look into it, it's just not worth it in my opinion. Even my head unit has both but no playstore. This is the reason I decided that in my next car I'm skipping a headunit and putting a big tablet instead lol. That will be just perfect.

Hi. I've done a lot of research and, unfortunately, there is no working solution to that. Netflix, along with a few other similar apps, do not allow screen mirroring on the head units. I did come across a solution if you root the mobile, but I do not recommend doing that and I haven't even tried it myself since that will void the phone's warranty among other issues that may or may not arise.

@@inzynierkrzysztof Yes, you are absolutely correct. Ever since Android 13 was launched, almost immediately all of the devices became incompatible. So I did some research too and made the other video which seems to be working on most devices including mine. Hope that helps.

Sadly as of 1/21/23 it doesn't work on my 2022 Toyota Highlander. I have AAAD pro so I tried a few times yes the app installed. You can see the app on the phone and you can see the app on the car screen but there's no mirroring when you use it just a blank black screen. Also yes I have all permissions allowed

Hi Nimesh. Glad you found the video useful. Yes this method only allows us to see youtube or movies saved in the phone. For Netflix and other 3rd party video apps we need to root the phone which bars the phone's warranty and is not recommended.

Hi! The major difference in them is that you can mirror your phone's screen on the car's head unit using the AA Mirror or AA Mirror Plus apps which is not the case in Fermata Auto. It's a good option if you wish to use the phone's multi window feature to open something like google maps while watching a video which you can then see on your car's screen.

@@anantkajaria2738 oh you bought the pro version of aaad, ok. Well I don't see why it should keep crashing. The only thing that can be causing an issue is the Android 12 version. As I mentioned in the pinned comment of the previous videos, some android 12 phones are facing some or the other issues. AAAD team is currently looking into it and should be resolved soon. Hope it resolves for you soon as well. Till then you might have to face some inconvenience of restarting the car like you said. You can try using an older android phone if you have. Mine is still on android 11 and so I dont get any issues whatsoever. Take care.

See if it resolves the issue. if it doesnt then simply uninstall that app only and reinstall my version or else keep using the latest version unless you face any other issue. but remember, dont uninstall carstream app else you will have to wait for a month yes I'm aware of that and so is AAAD team. thats why i mentioned they are working on it since i dont think they can afford to lose all the new customers buying latest version phones.

I did all the steps, but the problem is it seems my screen (head unit) is only showing black screen. So i believe the display is somewhat off. How do you fix this? But the main issue is, My first set up or even i tried to use the app there is no PROMPT message from my phone and even in the head unit screen to enable it. What did i miss it? So you can mirror the phone only via aa mirror or aa mirror plus, carstream is only for youtube on car. I neither of the mirroring apps are showing up on your car then your phone or the android version in it is not compatible. Which phone are you using and what is the android version of it?

@@jayrod171 ok so I have the S20 FE 5G and up till last month the aa mirror plus app was working just fine. Now it's acting up with a black screen on the head unit. I think, the phone's updated software is to blame. However, the aa mirror app is working just fine. Try that one. One more thing, I haven't upgraded the android version to 13 either. That could be the issue as well.
