I could see some advantages if you were to have blocks that were standing in a row on it's edge in the upright position and another mud box on it, that way you could spread the mud on both surfaces and have them all ready and prepared to lay

Good use of the applicator but their are several things to note about this install. First, the installer should be wearing closed steel toe footwear not beach sandals. Yes, AAC blocks are lighter than cider but they still weigh between 35 lbs to 50lbs depending on size and density. Second as the installer lays each flight/course of AAC blocks he should be checking each with a level and using a rubber or silicon mallet to make sure each AAC block is level and firmly installed vertically and horizontally.

Looks like porous concrete which is meant to only be applied with a thin layer of adhesive. Here in Germany the inspector and the construction manager won't like it if the adhesive starts oozing out of the gaps. Edit: Just found out that AAC is indeed what I thought it was I just used the literal translation from the German word Porenbeton = porous concrete

@@AJ7- It’s not none, but it is limited. These AAC blocks should be laid with stainless steel reinforcement mesh bedded into the thinset mortar. The mesh is quite fine, and easily sits within the 2-3mm mortar layer. You just roll it out and pat it into the mortar.

@@marcushacquebord9610 Some people use a special AAC block trowel. It has a scoop and a long handle to reach into a bucket. Also has notches to get the correct amount of mortar/adhesive onto the blocks. Where I am AAC blocks are delivered by truck or train from Mexico or the other side of the US. They are not available for local pickup. I guess that in some parts of the world they are available in the local building supply store.

What are those blocks made from because there is no way that is solid stone or concrete, because as big as they are, they should be heavy as hell if they were stone or concrete, where you would really need another guy lifting it from the other end, but he sure is picking them up with no problem and placing them pretty easily, almost like they don't weigh much. No stone mason or brick layer is going to wear flip flops doing that job, they wear steal toe boots.
