I've been to only two of those countries, Spain and Portugal, and I'm always surprised when I see people put Spain on their list (I've seen two so far to be fair). Not that I felt terribly unsafe, but I didn't feel totally safe either/not safe enough to put it on a list of one of the safest countries to travel to. I felt comfortable in Portugal tho and it ended up being my favourite country I've ever travelled to and would love to go back. I was not solo for the record, I was with my parents (although there were few moments we were apart and not close to each other and without a fail I always got catcalled in Spain in those moments).

@@briantravelman I wasn't commenting based on statistics, but my experience since that's also how these videos are represented (including this one, if I remember correctly). From what I've seen, people generally seem to have had the same experience I did aswell, but of course crimes happen everywhere and we may have been lucky. It was just the general atmosphere for me. Also it's possible that I would feel differently if I visited now, I don't know how much things have changed (I was in Spain and Portugal in 2018).

@@rn5207 Well in some countries there are less of those places or times that someone would feel unsafe, so I think it's valid to discuss/label countries level of safety in average. For the record I was in both Portugal and Spain for a bit over a week and in different parts of the countries, so I do think it says something about both countries that I felt about the same no matter which city/town I was in (so safe in Portugal, not as safe in Spain).

Thailand is not that safe.. cause one incident happened with my relatives in thailand when they went there to travel with their two daughters....they left their daughters alone in thier hotel room for a while and in 15 mins both of them when missing and it has been almost 5 years but still there is no trace of them or no news.... One of my bags was stolen INSIDE Barcelona's airport, never to be found, thanks to the lazy airport police. This was the first time my luggage was stolen, at a least expected place (this never happened with me in India). Barcelona is actually known for petty theft, so be careful there. Otherwise, Spain is pretty safe, incredibly friendly and amazing.
