Recorded in the 90’s, released in the 2000’s, then re-released 20 years later…. and it fits every era of music so well that you wouldn’t be able to tell when it came out if you didn’t already know. I really wish we had the chance to witness what she would’ve done in the future. 😔

Missy Elliott on the pen, Timbaland on the soundboard & Aaliyah on the mic. To know this was originally composed in 1996 and revisited 5 years later in 2001 on her final album speaks how powerful Babygirl's mind is. Makes me wonder if that's what inspired Missy to do that same trick in her own discography. R.I.P. Aaliyah.

Right I miss Aaliyah and rock the boat was originally a 90 song too they waited until she was older to release it but it was already recorded🥰 in the 90s I just love every song from Aaliyah and to just hear her voice on a song makes my day Her Voice keeps me calm when I'm aggravated at times by idiots throughout the day🥺😩

But to me, it feels like Aaliyah was telling us to not cry because she’s no longer with us, she’s telling us to be happy that her music will always remain in our hearts. You made a fine comfort song Aaliyah. May you Rest In Peace.
