I literally discovered Aaliyah in the wake of Surving R. Kelly, and it really hit home because I can related to many of their experiences. I am doing an assignment for university about this song and as I get to know her better I feel this deep grief that is much more profound then when Michael Jackson died who was the only other artist I grieved.
