this is proof to the haters(*cough* beyonce stans) that aaliyah could indeed belt it out. she just chose not to because her genre is more laid back. she doesn't need to belt that high to sound good anyway. i love her soothing mellow vocals tbh. besides, who wants to hear a girl belting her highest notes over a midtempo hip-hop beat all day? pas moi. mariah had the same idea when she sang hip hop songs. less is more.

Belkin Laster I agree. Aaliyah’s potential was so vast. Her whole aura and vibe was magical. I only wish she was as appreciated in life as she was after she passed. Her legacy lives on. 🧚🏽

It's such a damn shame. I can tell that she still had a young voice. With more years and practice, she could have been so huge. I am still mourning her death in 2011.

I hate it when they have dancers on slow songs like this. It detracts from the artist. Her singing was enough by itself. It needed no enhancement. The dancing is just corny.

I grew up with Aaliyah and love her but always did and will always believe she was singing to R Kelly 🤷🏽♀️ Don't at me... That's why in her last year's she moved away from ballads and was hoping to exit the music industry and move on to movie's

They say that because Aaliyah was original lol and Beyoncé they see as her as above the human race lol can’t lie I’d choose Aaliyah I like Beyoncé but I don’t worship her periodt

Because Aaliyah’s original. I love me some Beyoncé but she copied a bunch of artists.

We’ll, Beyoncé had more power, but Aaliyah was more versatile in her vocal transitioning. But, Beyoncé’s underrated as well. People forget!
