Her "One in a million" era was the beginning of her iconic status. The long hair side part covering her eye, the four page letter belly dance, the hot like fire and if your girl only knew vocals The 'Are you that somebody' dance. Everything she did in that era was iconic. People try so hard to be the loudest, dance the hardest, or be the most stand out person in the room but Aaliyah had an undeniable presence that made it so she didn't even have to try to be a star. She just was one. Some people just have "it".

These white brands steal from Black people so much! When you try to tell people that the 90s fashion was heavily influenced and stolen from Black people, they will see it's a white brand and say "JUST BECAUSE BLACK PEOPLE WORE IT DOESN'T MEAN THEY CREATED IT" or "UH IT'S LITERALLY A WHITE BRAND, EVERYONE WAS DRESSED THAT WAY." No everyone wasn't dressed like Black people. We were doing different things with the fashions. We were the trendsetters and these fashion houses were studying us and changing up their designs. That's what people don't understand. It's so frustrating.

Well, it was actually a partnership. You say “steal” like they weren’t paid for their work. Aaliyah and other black people who partnered with fashion designers worked together to create style from different influences. At the end of the day, they both were paid. Yes, there are a hundred examples you can point to of white people taking things from others to make themselves more famous and wealthy, but this example is not the same.

A little "collab" or brand deal money doesn't equal a cut of the revenues or sales and doesn't account for any other white fashion designers and brands in the 90s who were turning to Black communities to create their "urban" lines and "street" wear looks without credit or pay. They were literally copying the exact looks that Black gangs wore and making it mainstream and runway 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ I can really care less what you believe. We could give proof for every instance and you whites would still make excuses but Black designers, celebs, and the community are stolen from to this very day by white designers and fashion brands. This channel has a few videos on it with receipts but you people don't care about accountability so believe what you want sherlock. You really thought you were saying something.
