Listen & Download 'One In A Million' album out now - aaliyah.ffm.to...
Remastered in 4K coming soon!
Lyrics -
[Chorus 1]
How could the one I gave my heart to, break my heart so bad?
How could the one who made me happy, make me feel so sad?
Won't somebody tell me? So I can understand
If you love me, how could you hurt me like that
How could the one I gave my world to, throw my world away?
How could the one who said, "I love you," say the things you say?
How could the one I was so true to, just tell me lies?
How could the one I gave my heart to, go and break this heart of mine, tell me?
[Bridge 1]
How could you be so cold to me
When I gave you everything?
All my love, all I had inside
How could you just walk out the door?
How could you not love me anymore?
I thought we had forever, I can't understand
[Chorus 2]
How could the one I shared my dreams with, take my dreams from me?
How could the love that brought such pleasure, bring such misery?
Won't somebody tell me, somebody tell me please
If you love me how could you do that to me, tell me?
[Bridge 2]
How could you just walk out the door?
How could you not love me anymore?
I thought we had forever
Can't understand, no I can't understand
[Chorus 1]
How could the one I gave my heart to, break my heart so bad?
How could the one who made me happy, make me feel so sad?
Won't somebody tell me? So I can understand
If you love me how could you hurt me like that?
How could the one I gave my world to, throw my world away?
How could the one who said, "I love you," say the things you say?
How could the one I was so true to, just tell me lies?
[Outro]
How could the one I gave my heart to
How could the one I gave my heart to
How could the one I gave my heart to
Break this heart of mine, tell me?

Whenever Aaliyah was asked if her music was relating to her, or personal she always stated she didn't write any of her music nor was it related to any of her life experiences. It was all simply for the fans. maybe it would relate and speak to a fan, or they simply enjoy it. Nothing more.

I get in my Aaliyah moments at times. And so I find myself back here often. This was her first slow tempo song that I fell in love with. Her vocals are phenomenal at only 17 or so here. This girl came in like fire when she debuted in the late 90s and her flame has never been extinguished even so many years after her death and in her shirt time here. She is still as relevant now as she was then. Sleep on Babygirl..❤

The fact people say she can’t hold a note , okay she knows when to sing all out and when not to. You don’t have to over sing in every song. Though it’s the people that don’t listen to her music and only know the same popular songs she has.
