AHHH....tugging at the heart strings girl.....Chicago's song , You're The Inspiration from Chicago 17 album was My wedding waltz in 1985....lol...nothing lasts forever except Chicago songs. Peter Cetara's voice is so unique, you'll recongnize it everytime....they had an amazing brass section as well. Bolor My World was My favorite.

One of the first guitar solos I ever learned. I was in a friend's dorm room checking out his new guitar. He was a big Chicago fan. This song was playing, and when it got to the solo, i just jumped right in. My friend started in on me, "Wait a minute. How do you know that solo? You always give me crap about listening to Chicago." At the time I was a huge metal fan so he let me hear it about knowing how to play a Chicago song.

This song has an attached song-Get Away, that goes very upbeat. In the summer of 1982, there was a popular movie "Sommer Lovers" where "Its Hard To Say I'm Sorry/Get Away" is played at the end of the movie and what then happens at the end of the movie exemplifies the song to a T. BTW, the movie has an incredible soundtrack, banger after banger after banger.

I mentioned this in an earlier comment, but how pleasing it is to hear you, being seasoned and versed in sound and tone to really discuss Chicago's musicianship, namely the bands soprano, alto, tenor, and bass collected harmoniously. Thank you for reviewing this in a refreshing way to your audience.
@NBLP7001

Men are not sopranos nor altos. Those are women voice types. Men are tenor (with the rare countertenor , like Steve Perry) baritone and bass.
@Shannon-000
@Shannon-000 Ай бұрын
@NBLP7001 I mostly agree with you on the tenor tone and men. I was clarifying that there are some, though only a few, that belt out that soprano style tone, even in being a man. The melting pot of it all is quite inviting.

Peter actually partially developed that style from having his jaw broken in a fight at a baseball game. He got hit and had to go on tour with his jaw wired shut. So he developed a style where he used his mask more than he might have if he'd never had to sing with his jaw mostly immobilized. :)

I love all of your honest and clean reactions to the music I grew up with long ago. It makes me happy to see and hear someone young appreciate the songs that I always loved. If you have a chance, you should check out some videos of the The Eagles, namely some of their live performances from 1977. Talk about musicians singing, and harmonizing. You will be amazed. Thanks!

Great reaction! Love your channel as it's so pure and natural. So many great Chicago songs, but Peter had a good solo career with a bunch of amazing duets with the likes of Cher, Amy Grant, Chaka Khan. I'd recommend "Glory Of Love" which was the theme song to Karate Kid II next. You'll love it!!! Keep up the great work! :)

I think another underrated and impressive voice I think you'd like is Raul Malo, the lead singer of The Mavericks. They're a pop/country band with a huge Latin flare...lots of upbeat horns and piano. I'd love to see a reaction to their ballad "I Should Have Been True" or one of their more upbeat songs like "Dance The Night Away" or "Here Comes My Baby"

Produced by David Foster. Written by him and Peter Cetera. The video does not reveal who the right performers are for the audio. Credits for audio. Peter Cetera on lead and backing vocals, acoustic guitar. David Foster on piano 🎹, synth bass, synthesizers (not on video). Chris Pinnick on lead guitar (studio and video). Danny Seraphine on drums (studio and audio). Not in video. Michael Landau on rhythm guitar. Members of Toto. David Paich and Steve Porcaro on synthesizers. This song was written for the soundtrack to the movie 🎥 Summer Lovers. It appears near the end of the movie. In the same year, Paich and Porcaro played with other musicians including their band Toto. They worked like a dog 🐕! L 🤣L. Suggested videos featuring David Foster as writer and/or performer 📹: 1 Morissette Amon and David Foster perform The Bodyguard medley live in Manila. 2 Steve Perry and David Foster perform I Stand Alone 3 The Tubes perform She's a Beauty 4 David Foster and Stell Ajero perform All by Myself live in The Philippines 🇵🇭.

I am 68 and wish I were 20 again lol. Great singing by Peter Cetera. However: After their guitarist Terry Kath died in early 1978, Chicago's sound had completely morphed into1980's Power Ballads for Peter Cetera, the bass player, to sing with Chicago backing him up in an over produced echo chamber of Power Ballads, drowning out the trademark sound of the horn section. This is not the real Chicago sound to many of us. From 1968 to 1978 the horns were dominant in the arrangement, no synthesized strings and stuff, and there were three lead singers that included the pianist/ songwriter Robert Lamm, Terry Kath guitarist, and Peter. Occasionally the trombone player James Pankow would sing solo as well. Jazz/Rock Bands. This irritated us die hard fans that loved the original sound with more than equal creativeness in song writing and performance. Explore their original sound from 1968 -1978 to understand what I am saying here. And yes, I have a music degree and was a school band director. I see you did check out 25 or 6 to4. You can hear a drastic difference.

Its great that you have reaction videos - youre adorable - but I think you could really grow your channel and start building your brand by doing covers of the songs instead of just reacting to them. Or maybe after you react - than sing your version of it all. With a voice like yours you should easily be able to sing out the songs you admire and even add your own unique operatic twist to them - I think viewers will really appreciate that. Best of luck on the channel growth

one of the most bitter divorces in music history. Peter while being a great singer is a real POS as a person. not only did he politic/bully his way to lead vocalist when the original lead singer of the band died, but when they were elected into the Rock N Roll HoF, the band was willing to put aside their hatred for a night but Peter being the asshole he is, couldn't be bothered even for 1 night. which was probably like 15-30 min of actual interaction in front of the cameras.
