It is mind blowing that artists like Aaliyah, Brandy & Monica were pumping out major timeless hits at the ages of 14 & 15 🤯. Queens all of them in their own right! The 90s are undefeated. ☺️

@Baby Hunn they were talented since very young age. I used to learn how to sing but I never learned it cause I didn't had the talent. It's not all about producing and writing

Thats very true. There are ppl in the comments arguing that they didnt write their songs etc. It's way more than just about writing music. It's in their delivery of the songs. Aaliyah, Brandy and Monica had it. It was in their vocalization, their enunciation , and diction and most importantly their emotion. Talented well beyond their years. The same can be said about Michael Jackson. Every time I listen to Michael Jackson sing when he was a child his covers of People Make the World Go Round and LaLa Means I love You, It' better than the originals sung by adults.

This still goes hard after more than 20 years! This is what real music sounds like and what real class looks like. Aaliyah had more swag than most dudes had chicks and the fact that she could wear guys clothing and rock like em' made her a trendsetter, proving that you didn't have to show your ass to be sexy or to be down with the crew. I listen to a lot of music and although she didn't have powerhouse vocals like Mariah or Monica, I found her voice to be more vulnerable and intimate than any other female vocalist to date. Her voice reaches me (and many others) on a level where I feel that I personally knew her. Her voice was love in its purest form; naked, cool, calm, assured, intense, and angelic all at once. I truly feel that her voice is the gospel which means the absolute truth!!!

DEE MEECH Thank You. If she were still here, who knows where females in the music industry would be? I'm sure they'd have more self respect and sing about matters of the heart (from the heart) more frequently. Her voice carried the purity that one would liken to the innocence of a child; yet it was mature, with the subtleness and conviction of a wiser, more experienced woman. Today, everyone sounds alike. There is little left to the imagination (I'm guilty of liking some of it), but it's all artificial. Back then, you could just reach out, touch, and feel the artist's emotions. Now, you've got to sift through so much autotune just to get even the faintest pulse. I think Timbaland and R. Kelly gave her their best work. Afterwards, they kinda fell off (creatively speaking). If you revisit her albums, you can see her metamorphosis into a take charge diva (minus the attitude) who knew exactly what she wanted (as far as production) and the emotions she wanted to convey. Her final album was her greatest work. It went beyond R&B. The only issue is that it wasn't mastered properly to allow a unified blend of the instruments and her voice. I admit it had to grow on me but once I paid attention to all it had to offer, I was blown away. Not an easy listen, but highly rewarding and deserves way more recognition. Tops anything Beyonce ever did album wise.
@AmoMe20099 жыл бұрын
+Nick Coley The way this music industry today is set up(at least the majority of it) Aaliyah unfortunately would be more successful in film then in music. The garbage in my opinion of today is basically saturation of immature, mediocre lines like "eat the booty like groceries", repetitive one-liners like "never ever ever never ever getting back together" and also elongated songs with the same lyrics repeated 30x like the line "shine bright like a diamond". Aaliyah's "4 page letter" and "loose rap" tells a couple stories in 1 song. Other artists back in the day of course like Mariah Carey was successfully guilty of this. Oh how I miss those days...
@AmoMe20099 жыл бұрын
+Nick Coley The disgust from me of no more music from Aaliyah's catelog is immeasurable. She is my favorite R&B artists ever. My favorite album is One In A Million. I can play that CD over and over everyday. The remake of Choosey Lover is my favorite song of that album. If you like Aaliyah music, hopefully you listened to Old school Mariah Carey like "The Roof" off of Butterfly as well as the entire album of Daydream.

Aaliyah will always be the princess of r&b. Hands down no replacement even after her tragic death. She not only loved her fans but her brother as well. She had him in this video. She stayed loyal never switched up. Which is why she was loved so much and still loved til this day. R.I.H Aaliyah!

Oh, to be a teenager in the 90s again. We were so fortunate to grow up with amazing artists like Aaliyah. It was a golden time for soul, R&B and hip hop. It makes me laugh, because when a good song came on, everyone put their hands up, got their lean on and just felt it. That's how the music made you feel. Amazing.

90s Music is my Escape from Reality. Miss these Beautiful Days. So much LIFE and COLOR and SOUL in this Video and Beautiful Energy. The 90s & Early 2000s was the Golden/Silver Age when the Realms were touched by the Heavens(God) when ^Atlantis was here and when Life felt like you were in another Dimension like Heaven on Earth. Life was so Peaceful back then and people were more Real and Down to Earth and knew how to Live and have Fun. Now we live in the Dark Age aka Last Days. So Blessed I witnessed this Beautiful era. Can't wait till these days return again. Eternal Life!
