I use this Sellier & Bellot 6.5 Creedmoor all the time. It is by far the cheapest 6.5 Creedmoor I can get in my area at 15.99 a box. There is one store that carries it and it happens to be the local store where I purchase most of my firearms. So when I am out at the range this is usually what Im shooting and this stuff shoots 3/4" groups consistently at a 100 yards. If they dont have any of this I usually opt for the Remington Kore Lokt or the Hornady whitetail. Those are the cheapest alternatives. Remington Kore Lokt is a 1.5 in group round at its best. The Hornady whitetail is a 1 inch group round. Im not one of those impractical ass people that thinks I need to shoot sub moa every time I hit the range, so I rarely ever buy expensive match grade stuff. I tend to keep my expectations practical. Basically if I can group inside of three inches at a 100 yards consistently with a particular ammo. Thats usually good enough for me. The most practical thing is understanding the capabilities of that round and consistently grouping with in that rounds capabilities. Consistence is practical. Sub-moa has very little practical application. My rifles see match grade ammo once in their life and thats when I first get them and I want to make sure they are in fact sub-moa rifles like many manufactures guarantee these days. Thats it. After that its the cheapest stuff I can find.

I’m 12sec in and thought I’d share my experience with this ammunition (labelled tactical ammunition). Bore sighted rifle. Sighter shot with my new Tikka Super Varmint off sticks at 50yds was c. 3” high. Back to 100 adjusted scope and shot a 0.68” group of 3 (slightly high and right). Adjusted scope and shot a 0.54” group of 3 a little low and slightly left. Adjusted scope and shot 3rd group of 3 each in the bull with a 0.68” spread again. Amazing results for this ‘cheap’ ammo.

I just picked up a box of this to try in my Savage Axis-II XP 6.5 Creedmore ( of course) I'm going to see how my rifle likes it tomorrow morning.

I’ve had great luck with these. Always sub moa out of my weatherby. And sub 1/2 moa out of my ruger precision rifle.

Doesn’t seem too bad for cheap fmj range ammo. Be good to have for a stockpile and have the brass for hand loading. I think I’m going to get a box of each of their grain weights and see what mine likes before buying a case

I like to S and B ammo OK I guess. I have an LWRC 6.5 Creedmoor semi auto. The gun shoots way better than I do. It does however like some ammo better than others. It likes the Hornady 140 really well. Great groups you can cover with a quarter. The S and B was a little inconsistent with the grouping. This is from my own personal experience and I’m sure everyone has their own.

I have a Browning Hells Canyon. It shoots Hornady like crap but I used S&B and I got a half inch group and a three-quarter inch group out of it. The American Gunner Hornady was inch-and-a-half group.

I got some very nice results from the 140gr rounds today. 1/4in to 1in @150 yards. It outperformed the Winchester, Nosler and Hornady rounds that I had on hand. So I THINK my Savage is liking the S&B best.

Got myself a 6.5 CM and was looking for some cheap break-in or base-line ammo. I'm getting 3/4 MOA @ 100yds with a RRA LAR-8M 20". I use Hornady ELD Match when it matters (not reloading yet) and this stuff when plinking or practicing. No issues.

I shoot .5 and less in an RPR with this and magtech in 140. Some groups are ragged hole 5 round groups some all the way out to clover leaf 5 round groups. GMM AND SIG MATCH don't shoot any better in my rifle. Why spend 30 dollars a box. I get this for 12 a box or 300 $ pre 500 rnds.

@aandeoutdoorcompany3 жыл бұрын
It makes no difference in terms of barrel life/wear if the bullet is a FMJ, soft point, or hollow point, if they are all going the same velocity. This also assuming all are of copper jacket construction and quality manufacturing.
