I've been casually speedrunning this game and I hit a glitch I've never seen before while doing an RTA. I got to Fryguy (the world 4 boss) and broke him down into the small Fryguys as usual, but when I hit one of them with an item, it didn't disappear in a puff of smoke like it was supposed to. Instead, it fell off the screen like a regular enemy. This caused some confusion within the program because when I killed off the other little Fryguys, the door didn't appear and I couldn't exit to the next world. Since there was no way for me to die, it essentially softlocked the game and killed the run.

It's a known glitch with the first version of SMB2. It was fixed in the revision or "PRG1" version.

Birdos respawn when you get far enough away, just like any other enemy. However, on most birdos you can't do this because they're in small closed off rooms where you can't get the required distance away. From experience, it's also possible with the birdo in 1-1, should you use a super jump with Luigi to jump over the right wall, and then head back.

(3:17) Correction: Getting hit by an enemy doesn't make the fake item above your head turn real again. However, if you die (either through injuries, a bottomless pit, or the quick-kill code using controller 2), then the item will become real at the beginning of your next life. (3:27) Actually, Birdo always respawns like any other regular enemy if you defeat him, scroll away from his spawn point, and then return. It's just that he won't have the crystal orb inside his body anymore. And, Birdo can respawn like that on any of the encounters with him in the game, not just in the 3-2 boss room (go ahead, try it in 1-1 or somewhere else). So, I believe this is intended behavior, and not a glitch.

I encountered a random glitch with mushroom blocks and any object that makes you climb up it. Basically you can delete the ladder tile by dropping/throwing a mushroom block, just as your about to fall off a platform or enter the next tile in the level that has a ladder, vine, or chain in it, if you time the throw just right, or spam the B button. You can throw or place a mushroom block in the same tile that the ladder, chain, or vine tile is in. The mushroom block then overwrites the ladder, vine, or chain tile, deleting it from existence, and no, it’s not a visual glitch either, the climbable tile is gone forever, but this also leads to an interesting visual glitch with the mushroom blocks too. If you overwrite a ladder sprite, the mushroom block becomes the same colour as the ladder sprites, and if done with a vine, the mushroom block becomes green, and if you do this with a chain, the mushroom block becomes silver. I accidentally encountered this glitch when trying to speed run the game, and tried to reproduce it, and was surprised at how easily it was to re-produce. This glitch doesn’t seem to work with the all stars version of the game, and can’t be preformed on the game boy advance version either. But it’s still an interesting glitch nonetheless.

The Birdo "glitch" you encountered basically happened because you went back to a point you had already reached in the map causing Birdo to respawn because the game was then programmed to think you had not encountered her yet.

Nintendo might’ve patched the Mario 64 speed run glitches in the 3D All Stars and N64 Nintendo Switch Online versions, but they didn’t patch *these* in the SNES and NES Nintendo Switch Online port.

I assume that once you land on a log, it counts as a falling grounded entity. Before you land on it, it’s probably either not an entity or not grounded for some reason. So, this is why the pow block affects it.

A+Start ! I found a glitch in this game where you can keep the black world's music outside of it! You have to touch a star and then enter the door, If done correctly, the game will send you back into the level but the music won.t change. I hope it's going to be useful for future videos.

The Bride glitch can happen with any Birdo in the game. Beat the first one in the game and run far away and come back an it'll be there again.

There’s a glitch that happened to me once and I’m guessing it’s those really really rare glitches. But anyways when you start the game on the very first screen when you land by the first red door of the game I threw a vegetable and opened the door at the same time and immediately ended the game and went to the ending animation. This must be one of those perfect timing glitches because I could never replicate it again...but you might be able to.

The Birdo glitch is just a side effect of all enemies, and Birdo is no exception. In fact, it happens to most big bosses as well where it's applicable. If you go off screen from where the enemy originally spawned and then come back, it will always reappear.

My favorite SMB2 glitch (or at least the most bizarre one) is not very well known. In 4-1, if an autobomb shoots a fireball in the air when falling down from a stair, there is a chance that you will instantly die. This completely depends on the autobomb's Y position when it fires- it has to be on the exact vertical pixel position in order to happen. The glitch happens because the fireballs actually corrupt memory every time one appears, the memory of the address of the fireball's Y position, to be exact. Most of the time the corruption is harmless, but one of the possible memory addresses that can be corrupted is Mario's Y position, causing Mario to be warped off the bottom of the screen.

There's another one I remember from when I was a kid, and I usually did it in 1-3. Get 4 cherries and put a subspace door where a 5th cherry is. Get the cherry and the resulting Starman. While invincible, go into Subspace. Wait for invincibility to wear off, and just as it does, go out the door. If done correctly, the SMB1 theme should play in the normal part of the stage until you enter a door or go down a pipe.

I'm pretty certain people know about the Pokey defying the laws of physics. 3:26 Well, everyone seems to have noticed this. Minibosses (along with regular bad guys) don't stay kaput, especially since you need to ride one egg in one particular in one level. They always respawn when off-screen. Also, you forgot the best glitch: a glitch that keeps the subspace music looping into the main level. It involves getting a star at the right moment so that when the star music fades out after being in subspace, it'll just play the subspace music in the main level. It's easy to find in 1-3, since there are plenty of cherries.

A+Start I discovered a glitch in the legend of Zelda breath of the wild, if you pick up a cucko (I'm probably spelling it wrong) and jump of a ledge and immediately pull out your bow, you drop the cuckoo and the game will go slow-mo as usual but only for a split second. Then you will be gliding like you're holding a cucko, but you're holding the bow. I have the Wii U version so it might only work for the Wii U and not the Nintendo switch. This was a cool glitch I wanted to tell you about. Anyway, love your videos!

The log glitch happens due to it being programmed to go one way only, so with the pow block pushing things up, it re programs Itself to go up only because it is a one way object. Good video to btw!

There was one I found when I was a kid that I was kind of surprised I didn't see here. I think it's in world 1-2 just before you get to the Birdo fight, if you throw down a potion in just the right place, you can get an extra coin. The timing has to be just right when you're pulling up coins in the sub-space area. If you manage to pull up your last coin just as the time in sub-space runs out, a coin will come out with you and land just above the door and keep spinning on the platform there. Then you can jump on top of it and collect it again.
