@@marshmallowvampire8503 it was a new ability seperate from the other elements given to him by the lion turtle, called energybending. Not bloodbending as that essentially made a blood clot in the area of the brain that accesses your Chi for each element. The area of the brain for airbending Chi mustve been in a different place in the brain than the other elements, being why when korra's other elements were taken away she was able to airbend. With energybending, it completely strips that ability away, in essence, it's a lot like when in wan's time, the lion turtles would take their elements back once the citizens returned to their lion turtle cities. "In the time before the Avatar, we bent not the elements, but the energy within ourselves." -Lion Turtle This quote insinuates that he must be even older than the elemental lion turtles. As the ay-ay spirit in Korra has stated that there are dozens of lion turtles, just imagine what other types of amazing abilities could be made possible with future avatars!

Theory: Since aang was thought to be killed, fire nation knew that the next avatar would be a waterbender from the southern tribe that is why they captured all of waterbenders(except katara). But when they realised the avatar was still alive sozin's descendants dedicated their lives to find an airbender.

I would say yes, point you have to know your body for that comma know exactly where to hit you have to hit hard enough or you use your taming skills to do that in that respect you could see it as a special skill or superpower because I am myself sure not everyone can do that, maybe your doctor who also studied martial arts might be superior to them

I love how Aang learned the most dangerous abalities I mean by that he learned lighting redirect which iroh said if you don’t separate the energy in your stomach you die and with energybending the lion turtle said if you don’t have a full soul you die this dude learned some hardcore stuff for a 13 year old. He also was combined with the ocean spirit in season 1 episode 20 which Lok said is more than dangerous and do so without struggle.

Ok but Aang compressing water is probably one of the most impressive abilities. Just look up the compression of water in the Marianas trench. Aang just exerted equal or greater pressure on the water he was bending than literally the entire ocean AND a atmosphere above the water at the bottom of the ocean. Water, surprisingly, is one of the least easily compressed materials in the world.

Ultimately, the elements are best bent through the expression and understanding of nature and a balance within yourself and your ideals. Fire doesn't come from Anger, is comes from the breath. Water doesn't push without first being pulled. Each requires serenity to fully master. As an Air Nomad with training from birth in meditation and spiritual enlightenment, Aang was better suited than most to see the similarities in all elements, and by proxy be able to fully realize his Avatar abilities. Roku struggled with Water bending, but even through a few second montage, it's understood since he was away learning the elements for 12 years that it took him longer to learn his hardest element; Water, as a fire bender, than Aang did with learning his hardest; Earth, which he did in a few months maybe. Aang OP

4:50 Water is not considered compressable, otherwise transporting it would be much more efficient in pressure tanks like how we transport other gasses and liquids. To compress water by tiny amounts we require ridiculous amounts of force, so while technically everything is compressable, water is so barely compressable that is not worth the energy to do so... That's why water distribution is so tricky and water hammers are a thing and when steam distribution fails we get massive destruction.
