I know Abida Parveen since a long time. She came to my uncle S.M.Shahid house who is the first musicologist in Pakistan to learn classical music from his teacher Ustad Wilayat Ali Khan. She was a very talented student of classical music in the era 80s. Now she is the one and only super star in the world. Let me tell you one more thing. She is so so so humble and down to earth kind of person.

I am very happy to know that you loved Pakistani sufi music (spirtual kalams) I am big fan of it too, No doubt Abida is legend in this music, there is an other artist her name is Sanam Mavi she is also extremly good in sufi music and her voice resembles with Abida aswell... this is her field of music, I recommend you to listen her ٬ she have some performances in COke studio aswell... the instrument u mentioned is rabaab mot sitaar.. whenever u hear heavy tang tang tang tang know that it is rabaab.. it is a traditional instrument of northern western pakistan and afghanistan( pakhtoon areas).. but it is used all over pakistan and now in india as well
