For me, F1 2020 is the best F1 game because of the feel of the cars. The drivers offering their feedback and critiques of F1 2019 during the shutdown led Codemasters making a game that not only looked good and worked well but most importantly felt good too.

And most importantly it was before EA bought Codemasters and started meddling with them, essentially ruining the franchise. F1 2021 was still quite nice, 22 was terrible, 23 was a step in the right direction and 24 was once again one step backwards even though it's nowhere near as bad as 22

I played F1 2020 around 180 hours on PlayStation. controller only. Playing as Michael Schumacher Avatar, having Antoine Hubert still as Rookie driver, all those things were a big reason to come back to this game again and again and again.

that's another good point worth mentioning, driving this game on a controller was infinitely mor enjoyable than 2021, plus once I got my wheel and set it up, I learned that this is one of the F1 games with better FFB too.

Future F1 games introduced one key feature to My Team and that's research points gain rate. Without it, you could easily outdevelop competition and become the fastest car by somewhere around mid-season 2. F1 2020 was also already starting the trend of taking things away. F1 2019 had classic cars spanning as far back as 1970s. The oldest car in F1 2020 is from 1988, IIRC.

Ranked races have the rules turned on. AI was consistent. None of this turning it up to 110 for Hungary, then having to lower it to 105 for Miami and Bahrain because the AI either has unlimited ERS or OP straight line speed like in F1 24.

Sadly I soon found out that since it was delisted, there is no way to get pitcoins(aside from the latest podium pass season, but that's it). for me I would love to see the Staff play more of a role so yes you can choose your own R&D but each staff member tells you what upgrading there department would do also on My Team having your team mate say how they want you to spend it, depending on the standings and who the driver is depends on how much you need to go down there route rather then yours. make my team more about the team.

F1 2018 was my first F1 game, miss the colored compounds :(, I fell in love with the mclaren and the sauber for some reason (ferrari engine sound i guess?) Then I got F1 2020 and a wheel and pedal setup. F1 2020 MyTeam makes it so good, also, vietnam, I love vietnam, I know a lot of people dont like vietnam but I love vietnam. But man, I miss the German gp, was it hockenheim? Fun track. I also beat Sharl Leglerg's 2021 pole time in monaco (no 2020 gp coz scary virus) in a midfield to backmarker season 2 myteam car by 2 tenths or so. And even doe Merc dominated the first season, Bottas won the championship, gonna miss him on the grid for 25

As I never really cared about classic cars and the lack of AI mistakes in F1 2020, for me personally F1 2021 was the best F1 game. It was just a lot more fun having the AI making a lot more mistakes and regularly crash on their own, having VSCs and SCs almost every race which barely happened in F1 2020 and also the sliders with increased/decreased R&D, acclaim etc for player and AI. I just enjoyed F1 2021 more than F1 2020.
