For those who would prefer to copy and paste the commands into the game; I'm gonna put them in here for you, since Aar didn't add them to the description. Aar, I, and I'm sure many others, would be grateful if you either added the commands to the description so they can copy and paste it, pinned this comment so it'll stay at the top for people to find it easily (Probably easiest, but I feel like it makes me look like I want attention, which I don't. Please do one of the other two.) or add a comment yourself since this is your video, your comments automatically stay at the top. The first set of commands shown at 2:30 cl_interp 0 cl_interp_ratio 2 rate 60000 cl_updaterate 66 cl_cmdrate 66 These are the commands that provide complete optimization. They work in valve server/casual mode, comp servers (both ingame comp mode and third party comp) and MvM servers. The second set of command shown at 3:19 cl_interp 0.0325 cl_interp_ratio 1 rate 60000 cl_updaterate 66 cl_cmdrate 66 These are suggested to be used if you play on community server often. A large number of community servers limit these settings. However if you're like me and only occasionally use community servers (trading, trying workshop maps, etc.) you should be able to just use the first set of commands.

No. For one thing console tf2 doesn't have a command console, I think? For another, the console version hasn't been updated in ten years, or at all really. Seriously it is identical to when the game first came out. There are no cosmetics, no weapon unlocks, no airblast and tons of map exploits. I'd recommend switching to the PC version.

Absolutely. The first 5 minutes of joining _any_ server are nothing but extreme lag. It gets better after that, but those 5 minutes are going to sprout some unfair fights. Mainly those 1v1's when you've taken 4 shots at the soldier and are about to shoot for the last time to get a kill but oops, your game froze! So from the Soldier's view, you just stopped and were standing there like a god damn idiot.

You know, those settings are not set to this by default because not many people do not have internet that can handle it, if you set your interp low not having a very good Internet, there will be more data loss.

If you use Net Graph 4, you can see a blue wall with a white line above it that shows orange spikes inside it. If the spikes go above the white line, that means the extrapolation is too much and your shot won't hit. Setting the interp ratio high enough that it doesn't go above normally will be the best idea for hit reg. I saw this on a forum and it's helped a lot.

tf2, like most games in the modern era, runs on ticks per second, instead of your fps. minecraft was not the first to use the tick system, it's just not common knowledge that your games are even running on ticks instead of frames because of how common it is. because most games are run on ticks instead of frames, it means that players who dont get good frames can play at the same speed as players who do (ie a player who gets 1000fps will move at the same speed as a player with 10fps) as well as a ton of other benefits mostly affecting multiplayer games.

Also a fun little tidbit that I don't recommend doing, you could run cl_interp at the max (0.5) to create lag for yourself and create a dysnc between what you see and what the server sees, making it possible for you to backstab someone in their forehead!

I got you covered! Go to Options and then click on the Audio tab. Under Captioning, in the drop-down menu select either Closed Captioning or Subtitles. Closed Captioning displays everything that can be heard, including the ones that might spam the feed (e.g. Heavy Hurt a Bit). Subtitles only display important things to be heard, but might exclude some other stuff.

Your internet is perfect for rate 196608 Yea it's seems a lot different from the video but here's some rate that's make your ping smoother due to how connection works 1.64000 (if U have slow-normal connection) 2.128000 (the perfect one for playing in my experience) 3.196608 (higher rate for faster connection, good for sniping so you wouldn't miss a head) 4.256000 (good if you don't want see a delay on projectile) And also if you play sniper with around +80 ping, try cl_updaterate 10000 or higher. This will also works in a sidestab battle

I know the video is old, but i have looked at almost every interp video and not a single video mentions the "laggy" animation of the sentry building (at least i dont't think so). Engineer mains can get confused and may think that they are lagging. Just a little info.
