To get custom animations in normal Valve servers is to; open console, type map (Map Name like ctf_sawmill), thenonce you're on the map, pick a class, quit back to the main menu and boom. Now you have custom animations in valve servers. This even works in Comp.

There's some pretty neat mods out there, like Music for an ubercharge or from an active Dispenser, even SSBM's Break The Targets song for the Mannrobics Too bad we can't use them in Casual mode.

Must say I'm more pissed at the comp community than valve over animations, it isn't like having viewmodels is gonna actually effect anything assuming your using min mode, and if you were really all that determined to have no viewmodels, set your viewmodel fov to have a bind to make it drop to an extremely low value to essentially hide the viewmodel, and another bind to reset it to normal, they essentially ruined custom viewmodels for the rest of the playerbase because they just couldn't accept having to play by the rules that valve set up beforehand

There's a way to keep custom viewmodels on valve servers, just connect to a sv_pure 0 server and then go on valve server, for whatever reason, the viewmodel is the custom modded one

A easy fix for the animation packs is to load into itemtest map, or using map itemtest in console to load up the animations. You must do this everytime you load in to TF2. I found this on the packs I use. ^.^

Custom animations still work. You just have to open up the Item Workshop first, then you can join a Valve game. It somehow bypasses the block.

For custom sounds, theres a script on gamebananna that basically loads all sounds from the vo folder, which on valve servers, allows all sounds to be loaded from that folder. Doesnt work in MVM though oddly enough

I once found a troll CSS server that had default playermodel .mdls on fastDL, so if you had custom playermodels installed, it would de-sync your .mdl with the rest of the model files, causing all players to appear invisible to you.

They quickly removed viewmodel animations from there white list, that's true. Here's an update for you, I had a custom viewmodel animations on my files, first I went to a custom server achievement engineer, and when I was joining a valve server, for some reason, my custom viewmodel animations was still on. I'm here to say, that there is a glitch that can make you still use the custom animations in a valve server. (Idk if everyone knows this already, if not, well this is good news sorta)

What about a mod where you get a transparent FOV so you don't have to worry about the view model being at a minimum 30°. This will make it so you can have your FOV anything and the guns blocking half of your screen won't bother you. This is a brilliant idea that I have been trying to find.
