Xulfi and Nescafé Basement took an Aaroh original - one that has been my favorite for over 15 years - and raised to a whole new level. Somehow, I hadn’t come across this gem before now and am as blown away by it as both of you. What’s even more interesting it is that Aaroh and Xulfi’s EP were the two finalists in the first season of Pepsi Battle of the Bands, and Aaroh had trumped EP to win the title. Years later, Xulfi’s interpretation of perhaps Aaroh’s most recognizable song is poetic at so many levels. Loved the reaction. Loved the choice.

How can i miss this gem.. wowww. I am in tears. This has been an all time favourite for me. I still remember the concert of Aaroh back in my college days where we requested Mr. Farooq (Aaroh) to sing this THRICE!!! It was their most popular song.. do listen to the original. It’s beautiful but this is so mind boggling. Thank you so much for reacting on this because I discovered this gem through you guys.

"We" Pakistani Band lovers and who were grown up in MCC, Indus Music, MTV Pakistan, The Music age have a very nostalgic and emotional attachment with this song, the band Aaroh was the Pepsi battle of the band winner in 2001/2002, and this was one of the best song of them. Haider Hashmi joined Aaroh after Nabheel Nihal left the band as a lead guitarist, but after few years Aaroh broke up and Haider died due to brain tumor, he became father just 2 months before his death. EP was the runner up of Pepsi battle of the bands season 1, and Aaroh was the winner, Xulfi was the lead guitarist of EP, he paid tribute to Haider Hashmi by playing the solo in this song. Xulfi played the solo by Haider's own guitar, he borrowed the guitar all the way from Karachi to Lahore just get a real feel.

Yes, that is exactly how I felt the day Haider Hashmi passed away... Still remember that day when I heard the news. Aaroh, EP, Noori, Junoon, Mekaal Hasan, Mizraab, etc. were the bands I grew up listening to... Na Kaho is still one of the best rock tracks ever composed and sung. And Xulfi along with all the other musicians and singers did absolute justice to it. Such an amazing way to honor someone who was part of the rock music era when it was at its peak in our country so many years ago.. Thank you for reacting to this. I knew both of you will love this one.. Keep rocking! RIP Haider :(

U made me remember my college days... Also watch the original version and the video was really cute too.... I think original Aaroh was the winner of the first Pepsi Battle of bands too... Those were the days of radio scene peaking in Pakistan... And every other pop artist was making it big.... Thanks alot to reacting this.... I saw the reaction twice and the 1st reaction of shruttz was so on point and u felt so right... I think xulfi wanted this to convey or all others who composed this... Now I have to think and edit more of my comment 😊😊... So if u hear the original one, it had a lot of guitar in it... And there friend died... And it was beautifully conveyed in this... It was the breakthrough song of the band AAROH...and mind you all of the country was so happy something great coming out of the winners of the 1st 'official' contest battle of bands....if you wanna see the romantic feel of the song u will have to watch the video... For this they made guitar the Centre point, and the peak at the end is like how your feelings were struggling to coop with what have happened, how he has left them... Also EP was the runners up of the same season of battle of the bands... And Xufli was a lead guitarist... At the time no one in the country thought Aaroh could win, cuz they weren't as flashy as EP... but still the decision made the country happy, and this song confirmed it 😍 Its indeed a perfect tribute

This video is so nostalgic...with the visuals at the back and the black and white treatment...this song was a huge hit by Aaroh back in the day...Aaroh won the first Battle of the Bands! You can see Sherry Kattak (Fanaa) in there on guitars, the Leo twins, the lefty Hasan Faraz (you have yet to notice) and of course Xulfi himself.

I totally agree that this song can easily tear anybody apart, & I also agree with you 2 that the keys & singer only part of the song is just out of this world. Hi, I have something to be shared here. I lately gone through your reactions on the Legendary Nescafe Basement episodes; I'm shocked & surprised knowing your musical vibe that you are still missing out on reacting to most Legendary song and performance of the Nescafe Basement seasons. The song called, Kitni Sadiyan, original by Faraz Anwar. It's a tribute to his talent and contribution to the music industry; hence sharing the floor with plenty of other signers and musicians. Nabeel Nihal Chishti was the original guitarist with the band who was the lead guitarist on their first album, since Nabeel left the band the second guitarist really couldn’t fill Nabeel’s shoes, hence the band eventually died out. Search Nabeel Nihal Chisthi who had been the master guitarist behind all of Aaroh first hit album. Nabeel is a very distinctive guitarist.

Frankly I disagree. Try it. Take the vocals away. It will be cut in half. My friends. Listen to the original before making such comments. It is a ballad, it starts with vocals and poetry and ends with vocals and poetry. This beautiful music would have never been imagined if it was not fir the vocals. It's a rendition. Original was sung by Farooq from Aaroh, the band could never make it back after the untimely death of their guitarist Haider. Farooq left Pakistan and moved to USA.
