As much as generally I’m not a fan of Boone and his decisions (well who knows when those decisions really are even his) but I do give him credit for his coming on jomboy for these interviews and letting us see he is not the guy in those pressers (thank goodness). Jake and Jim do fantastic work so that their passion for the yanks comes out but does not spoil their pipeline to Boone and the team. Somehow they also avoid simply lobbing him the stupid and easy questions that everyone else seems to. For real fans of yanks and really baseball it is a win win!

Gotta admit! I've gone from being a bit wary of Boone to being a big fan. He's a real baseball guy and I admire it. Very mature way of looking at the game. I'm not a great judge, but he seems to be on top of things. Just a rough roster that he has to deal with and a tough season without Judge in the lineup to help things along. So glad he's talking to us nerds!

I personally think that the answers Boone gives during these and interviews are good! We may not enjoy the answers he gives as they sound fake but he has to say the positive and right answers because he is sticking up for his players mistakes. I believe this because if he gives real answers (calling his players out for mistakes) none of his players will want to play for him and may play worse. I do believe that he talks with his players behind the scenes about their mistakes privately but publicly he has to say the right things for his players to respect him.

Who on the team do you think had any real trade value? Torres and Bader? You're not getting major prospects for either one. Rizzo, DJ, Stanton...multi year high salaried players; not going anywhere. Higashioka...maybe a low level average rookie leaguer. Sevy...no value. Cortes....he was hurt. He don't even have a true closer so no one there has high trade value. So it's easy to say they should have gotten a bunch of prospects, but they simply don't have players than anybody else wants.

We're paying whether he's on our team or not. Let's get some low level lotto ticked for him. I would have traded German right after the perfect game and said so at the time. Sevy has value for a bull pen, at least he would have if they moved him to the pen to show he can do it (or he would have shown he can't and he'd have no value). Maybe Holmes if they can get enough back for him. He's still got another year on his contract, but if they can get enough back that it's worth it, he's moveable.

Would have liked some questions about Rizzo. I mean how can you possibly miss a diagnosis of a concussion when it has been plainly obvious to everyone watching that he hasn't been right since he hit his head 2 DAMN MONTHS AGO. He described symptoms of concussions as well. It is just completely inexcusable. It could seriously mess up the dude's life. If he had a second head injury while still suffering from the concussion, it could have been really bad. A concussion is a mild brain injury. That isn't to be taken lightly. The thing is that you can criticize Aaron Boone’s managing, but it’s always dicey because you never know all the variables that a manager has to deal with. But when an umpire-who’s been around forever-misses call after call, and there’s no question he’s missing them, it’s a different universe. I don’t want roboumps, and I think umpiring overall has improved, but guys like the inept Laz Diaz will make roboumps necessary.

Hey guys, big Jomboy and Yankees fan here. I think I’m probably in the minority judging on the comment section, but I’ve really started to dislike the bwb sessions (mostly last week’s). I think it’s mainly that you’ve kind of gone away from the attitude you used to bring to these conversations. Of course, deadline week was shit, and we’re all upset at what came of it. But you can ask the tough questions, like you do, while still being respectful. Thank boone for his time, appreciate the opportunity that you have to interview the manager of your favourite team (its pretty awesome). It was pretty clear to me last week that boone really doesn’t enjoy talking to you anymore, and that sucks. But why would he want to talk to dudes that clown him on a t shirt in front of face, doubt his answers, and really dont show him the right amount of respect? And some of the questions: “Sitting Judge feels like a white flag???” honestly, that one made me cringe. I follow talkin yanks because you guys know ball, and are not just another idiot on twitter going “season’s over” after a loss and “we’re back” after a win. This episode was a lot better. There was some teasing, but it was in good spirits. Good insights into the ball club, and great discussions re: volpe and Stanton. The best of jomboy+jake. Anyways, thanks for reading my rant. Hope we get more of this in the future guys.
