I really want to see Dominguez sitting next to Soto in the dugout, watching him in the cage and learning from him while he’s here. Even if he’s not playing everyday it’ll benefit him in the long run.
@richard_nj4 ай бұрын
Not gonna happen unless there's an injury. Dominguez needs constant reps and calling a top prospect up to put him on the bench just isn't done.

It's nice to see him admit that the call they made on the field was correct. I know a bunch of crazy stuff happens in the heat of a moment but there are few things more annoying to an umpire than a coach acting like they know exactly what happened or what a rule is when they couldn't be further from the truth. When it happens on the baseball field regardless of what the truth is, to the crowd, the coach looks like the hero and the umpire looks like the asshole because... he's an umpire.

I mean the runner should know the infield fly rule is always in play, Soto doesn't need to spaz out and trip the guy. If he's blocking the plate, rule the runner safe. The Umpire made exactly the right call, if Boone want's the rule changed he can be a little more specific instead of spazzing out for Stupid Soto 🤣

Easiest way to get Dominguez into the lineup... trade stanton... can rotate DH finally with judge soto Verdugo and Dominguez. And clear up about 35 mil in cap space
@mlbhighlights27564 ай бұрын
You’d have to give up Dominguez just to get another team to touch that contract with a ten foot pole.
@baller56ish4 ай бұрын
His contract is actually manageable as miami is paying 10 mil in the last 2 years. Which is why I suggested it. Teams would only cover about 20mil and 15mil n the last 2 years attached Everson Perria and I bet a team takes it on.

@richard_nj4 ай бұрын
You don't call up a top prospect to have him ride the bench. Just doesn't make sense.
@richardsamson40794 ай бұрын
@@richard_nj he wouldn't be riding the bench. Guys need days off and DH days
@richard_nj4 ай бұрын
@@richardsamson4079 He absolutely would. They're not really resting Soto and Dugie and when they want to get Judge off his feet, they drop Stanton and have Judge DH, and that hasn't happened a ton.
@caseyfenscke58954 ай бұрын
No you can’t bring Dominguez in to ride the bench the outfield is set.. the only way Dominguez sniffs the big leagues this year is if Stanton gets hurt. Then judge Soto can dh then that opens up a spot. Without an injury he stays in AAA

They’re very dumb if they don’t give him a chance to prove he belongs on the postseason roster. His bat is special and an injection of youthful energy could be a massive boost down the stretch

I'm curious if Rizzo and Gleyber don't improve; if this is all we get from them all season, will it be enough to win a WS or do the Yankees need to upgrade at one of those spots? Rizzo is not playing totally awfully, he's hitting like .250 or so which is certainly respectable, but his power numbers are down from peak years and his defense has been noticeably worse. I think Rizzo we can hold firm with but Gleyber has just been bad all around. Hopefully we can keep winning despite him
@richard_nj4 ай бұрын

@@AbleAnderson hey, you gotta celebrate the small victories too. But seriously, he's now been alright for as long as he wasn't.

@@richard_nj How do you figure? He's below career averages in almost every stat. He's hitting .230 with 4 HR's. I'm sorry, I wanted more from him. I was hoping for closer to .260 at closer to 8-9 HR's. If this is fixed then he's gotta go more than I thought
@richard_nj4 ай бұрын
@@AbleAnderson a lot of those numbers are that low because his April absolutely sucked, but for the last month he's been significantly above league average and alright by his standards. They also mentioned that in this episode, so I just thought you might've heard.

I agree, in field fly, batter is out and if there’s interference then runners don’t advance and that’s it, why is it so hard… if the umpires deem the interference intentional that call that runner out but let these guys play baseball, Jesus.
@cls0222684 ай бұрын
Is this crazy? Move Judge to first base and Dominguez to CF to get that bat in the lineup. Save wear and tear on Judge. I know Judge is a plus outfielder, but I'd rather have Dominguez in the lineup than Rizzo.

28:40 can’t tell if Boone was slyly acknowledging the tip’s existence with a hidden grin, or is just simply the worst actor I’ve ever seen lol
@AbleAnderson4 ай бұрын
Boone's reaction to Jake's question at 28:40 is indicative of my reaction to much of what Jake says. He speaks in half riddles very often and assumes everyone is right with him, and he tends to have a poor sense of when he's not being understood. I think it's a barrier to new fans; they tune in about mid way through episode 1400 and Jake is speaking 80% in jargon and inside jokes, causing a new person to immediately tune out

Respect Trevino with the 104 and Verdugo with a 115 ops+. Gleyber is slowly getting his up after a horrid start to the year. Dj literally just got back even though I don’t expect him to crack 100. And Rizzo is deff off but is still a tough at bat and he’s now in the 6-8 hole. Yanks def have one of the deepest 1-9 in the league and that’s not even factoring in Dominguez.
